Dr. Ann Frances Haas, MD

Caught my melanoma early. She saved my life. I have seen her for several years and always had a good experience. More recenlty she caught my melanoma early- only needed to have it removed. Excellent doctor!

Wasted my money on having a bulky vein injected. Her personality is not kind very business like. I now see a doctor that is very honest, my bulky vein is now being treated for the same price, it too did not shut down, my current Doctor is the BESt he does not charge me fro a repeat procedure and does a follow-up appointments without charge. Dr Anne never did a follow up guess the $$$$$ is more impartant that the patients satisfication.

Dr Hass's scheduling assistants are very unprofessional and do not accommodate patients requests or concerns. Very Rude and Dr Hass does not take any responsibility to help patients. Technologically very old office and I do no recommend anyone to go to this doctor. There are many other competent dermatologists in Sacrament area. Try others before considering Dr Ann Hass. Location of the office is horrible as well.

Our Primary Physician issues a referral to a Dermatologist regarding a dog bite that had not fully healed in 7 months. This wound had Cardiologist concerned because my wife has a defibrillator implanted.. By the time we got home thay same day we had a message to call for an appointment. We called and the next we made an appointment with Dr Haas was in 3 weeks, Two days before the appointment we received a robo-call saying that we would be seeing a technician, and not Dr Haas. When I called the office the next day I was told that this was their procedure that all new patients had to see a technician first before seeing the doctor and I would have to wait another 7 weeks if I insisted in seeing her, Without dragging this on I just want to say I am defiantly not recommending this practice to any other people seeking aid.

I made an appointment with Dr. Haas' office because I had some pre-cancerous spots on my face. I've had these before and had them frozen off. I became aware of a cream that does the same thing, so I wanted to know which treatment would be the least expensive.Dr. Haas' assistant spent 5 minutes with me, told me the cream would be the least expensive option and I asked for a prescription. She spent 5 minutes with me. For this I got a bill for $210. I called the doctor's office and asked what the minimum appointment charge is and was told $80.I questioned this billing and Dr. Haas' billing agency wouldn't budge. If you want to get gouged, go see Dr. Haas.

I was first seen by the PA. I was billed at the highest possible procedure code ($800 for a visit under 30 minutes, burned two areas only) and objected. At my next visit I was EXACTLY ten minutes late, and I called on the way to explain. When I arrived they stuck to their "10 minutes late and you are cancelled rule" but did re-schedule me for an appointment two and a half hours later. I thought it was petty, especially since I had waited longer than that for the PA. Dr. Haas was civil and professional but uninterested in resolving or understanding my issues. I certainly had the impression that profit trumps patient care.

I have had two skin cancers removed from Dr. Haas in the last 5 years. Generally, I have been quite satisfied with the procedure and results, but I do have a couple of recommendations that I think would benefit the patients:1. Both of my skin cancers were on my face, and both times I was very upset with the size of the incision that had to be made. I think the staff should better inform the patient of what the end results are going to be, so that the patients aren't leaving the office hysterical. For example, I think it would be helpful if they said, "we're going to be making a 1-1/2" vertical incision today. It's going to require approximately 20 stitches, but within 6 months the scar will look like this"...at which time they show you a picture of a nicely-healed 6 month scar.2. After both of my procedures, and BEFORE I have been stitched up, the assistant has handed me a mirror, and said, "Here....look at the cut before we sew it up." Why in the world do they ask patients to… look in the mirror? I almost fainted the first time I saw the incision. The second time I was asked to look in the mirror, I refused, and was nearly forced to look when I did not want to!! 3. Put a TV in the waiting room. The waiting time during a MOHS surgery is sometimes 3-4 hours. Good grief...one can only read so many out-dated magazine articles!

I was a MOHs surgery patient of Ann Haas and I am sharing my experience so that others may not have to suffer what I was subjected to under her care. I was diagnosed with a BCC and told by Haas I needed MOHs surgery but she never told that I would need extensive reconstruction after the tumor was removed. I went to my appointment expecting it to be similar to going to a dentist appointment. Five hours later after the MOHs surgery and a gruesome flap reconstruction that was done while I was awake, terrified and crying Haas handed me off to her physicians assistant to sew up the 5 inch flap incision. Haas never consulted with me about the reconstruction or offered a plastic surgeon instead she admonished me for crying and being afraid. Afterwards I was alone and had to drive myself home with a large pressure bandage on my face, still crying and in shock. No one from Haass office called to check up on me and a week later when I returned to have the sutures removed Haas never met with… me. Instead an office staff person (not a medical assistant, physicians assistant or doctor) removed the stitches and told me the wound would take at least 18 months to 2 years to heal. The large sutures the physicians assistant used to sew up the flap left a terrible 5 inch scar in the middle of my face. I had to live with the deformity and scar for 18 months until I was able to have a plastic surgeon perform scar revision and reconstruction. I had to pay for the second surgery out of my own pocket because my insurance company considered their financial responsibility of paying for the removal of the BCC and reconstruction of the wound done even though I had been butchered. They would have paid for a plastic surgeon to perform the first reconstruction but Haas never gave me the opportunity. Beware.

Dr Haas was great, she's very personable & a pleasure to meet with. Her beside manner made me feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend her to all my friends & family.

The staff is very knowledgable and professional. I never have to wait very long to see the doctor. I have had 2 Mohs surgeries on my face so far with another to go on my nose. The previous surgeries have healed excellent with little or no visible scarring. I love Dr Haas bedside manner. She answers all my questions and has a great sense of humor. I'm a little young to have skin cancer, but working with Dr. Haas has helped to relieve my worries. I highly recommend her.
