Dr. Ann-Marie Menendez-Caldwell, MD

I would not recommend her to anyone who thinks they may have anything more than anxiety or depression. She won't take you seriously, she won't prescribe you the correct treatment because she seems to think she knows how the patient is feeling more than they know themselves. Don't waste your time and find a psychiatrist that will believe you.

Would not recommend this so called "doctor" to anyone Especially someone needing this type of medical attention! Terrible communication. Never returns calls. Even in Emergency situations. We called and left messages On the personal cell phone as well a her office. This has Been almost 4 months ago and we still have not heard back From her! I have NEVER complained about any situation Publicly before, but considering she is a "psychiatrist " and This involved my child, I have no choice but to warn Others before they choose this "doctor" she has no place Practicing, prescribing medications, or dealing with adolescence in any capacity .

Dr. Caldwell is great. She's very kind, and seems to be knowledgable. But the process of making an appointment with her is such a nightmare it's almost not worth it. Her secretary is rude, rude, rude, rude, all the time. I have never have a good interaction with her. Ever. She is rude, condescending, and blames the patient for things that go wrong. Like Dr. Caldwell missing an appointment because she "couldn't find her cell phone." I had to leave... I'd scheduled the appointment for three hours before I had to be at work (the sessions are only 30 minutes anyway), but when it was a few minutes before I had to go to work, I had to tell them I had to go. Then I was blamed for leaving, the secretary marking down in the appointment book that I'd "skipped an appointment." Um... no. I didn't. When I called to contest, she refused to refill my medication, because I hadn't had an appointment (I tried... I'd already rescheduled for Dr. Caldwell once already), and I had to cancel work in order to… make it to an appointment to refill my medication. If you don't mind waiting forever, go for it. If you don't mind rude staff, go for it. Like I said, despite her problems with arriving to work on time, Dr. Caldwell is amazing. Very sweet, understanding, empathetic, and nonjudgmental. Everything you'd want in a psychiatrist. But her secretary... UGH.

My family has been seeing Dr. Menendez for about the past two years. I rarely encounter a doctor who is willing to spend enough time asking questions and listening. Before Dr. Menendez, I had never met a psychiatrist that still took the necessary time to understand the complete picture. She takes family and school factors into account and offers sound advice. She has been available when needed and promptly returned calls. We have been very happy with our medication and are probably the most stable we have ever been. I don't mind the sometimes moderate wait before appointments because I appreciate her giving me the extra time when I was the patient that needed it.
