Summary
About Ann
Ann Moore always knew she wanted a career in medicine. In fact, when she was a kid, she asked Santa for a doctor’s kit. He brought her a nurse’s kit instead— complete with cap and cape—and the rest was history. You could say it runs in the family now. Both of her children work in the medical field.
In the simplest terms, Ann loves helping her patients feel better. “My background is in cardiology, but I wanted to focus on acute care,” she explains. “It’s very satisfying when a seriously ill patient becomes well enough to leave the hospital.” So, Ann returned to school at Purdue University to complete her acute-care certification. She chose Beacon to be closer to her parents and help them as they’re getting older—mom is 86 and dad is 93.
Ann considers herself to be very pragmatic. “I want to know and justify the value I add for my patients,” she says. “The final decision about one’s health is not up to me. It’s a team effort.”
Over the years, Ann’s patients have taught her …the importance of listening. “I meet them where they are and help them make decisions that are right for them. I’ll never be ‘angry’ with them if they don’t take my advice.”
In Her Own Words
Who was the most influential person/role model in your life? Bob Edwards, MD. He taught me that the body goes to great lengths to heal itself, and we should do what we can to encourage and support that process.
What was your first job growing up? What do you remember most about it? I worked at Freer’s Ice Cream in Elkhart, IN. I had to learn to make change and use the old-style, push-button cash register.
What is your favorite food? Movie? I love potato chips and action movies.
What were your best/worst subjects in school growing up? My favorite subject was gym class, the worst was language arts.
If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased), who would it be and why? Hillary Clinton. She came closest to being the first woman president and has demonstrated incredible strength and resilience.
In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? What are your hobbies, interests? I enjoy cycling, reading, hiking, photography and golf.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I know a lot about whiskey. I was a tour guide at a distillery

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews
Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.
Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.
Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
