Summary

I'm an anesthesiologist at Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa and have been with our facility since July, 1997.

I came to this area to be closer to my family. I also enjoy the Bay Area for its ethnic diversity, scenic beauty and mild climate. I chose Kaiser Permanente because of the stability of the organization and its integrated system of healthcare. I believe this type of practice not only provides our patients with the best care available but also provides physicians with the best combination of professional and personal satisfaction.

I feel very fortunate to be doing something that I enjoy so much. Although I've explored and enjoyed all the areas of medicine and research as part of my training, I found anesthesiology to be the most interesting, challenging and rewarding.

"No matter what you do or what you choose, be the best that you can be." These were the words that I heard from my father over and over again when I was a child. These words have accompanied me throughout my training years and will continue to be the philosophy of my practice.

My Medical Specialty More details about my specialty: I am frequently asked why I became an anesthesiologist. That's easy: an anesthesiologist is not only a physician who applies pharmacology and physiology directly to the practice of medicine, but also a clinician who uses both his/her brain and hands. It is very rewarding to have the ability to care for patients and their families in a safe way during a critical moment in their lives.

Should you need surgery, the members of the Department of Anesthesiology will strive to make your experience as safe and as pain free as it possibly can be.

My specialty interests and affiliations within my field: I love kids. It is such a treat for me to hear that first cry right out of the uterus, even if it is 2 o'clock in the morning. To me, all kids are angels, even if they only weigh 2 pounds or have a cleft palate.
