Dr. Ann Maura Wierman, MD

Dr Wierman is nothing short of amazing! Straight forward, compassionate, and thorough. She guided my journey through the maze of treatment options for breast cancer and explained the process in clear, understandable terms. Her knowledge of the most current treatments and ability to coordinate care with the best surgeons and radiology oncologists was key to my successful treatment and recovery. Office is easy to find, clean, and staff is friendly. I would not hesitate to depend on her for any future medical needs.

The worst oncologist in all of Las Vegas. No care or sense of urgency for her patients. Not to mention, the lack of communication AND timeliness on obtaining information is beyond upsetting. Utterly disappointed and cannot wait to have my mother seen elsewhere. You will literally die here as patient under her care. At the end of the day, as long as she receives a paycheck, I guess she can give two sh*** about the lives of others. Unless it happens to one of her own. I’m sure then, it’s a different story.

Thanks To Dr Ann Wierman and the Lord above I’m here today. I had stage 4lymphoma she is straight to the point no nonsense no sugarcoating it (which I like)hard-working dedicated doctor who gets a little sleep because of her care for her many patients and she does care if you want someone who is going to lie to you and sugarcoat things it’s not her. The only complaint I have at all is her front office otherwise she gets 10 stars.

I read some of these negative comments, I just laugh. “5 minutes “ she talk” ok. You know what happening, you probably have googled it 600 million times. But it’s ok, don’t get defensive, but do get aggressive with the cancer beast not the Doctors who giving you tools to cause havoc to the beast!!!!!!!

My brother was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic and liver cancer. Because of the cancer he developed blood clots in his legs and feet which made him unable to walk. My brother was a doctor himself and knew the prognosis was grim. Dr. Wierman has zero compassionate and I found her to be happy to tell my brother the very devastating news after she felt chemo would not work. I walked to to the his room and stood outside the door listening to her telling him with this happy arrogance about her telling him “Your never going to walk again, your never going to drive again, your definitely not going to be able to work again and any treatment option is not available to you!” My heart sank. My brother was only 53 years old. When I confronted her I asked if she enjoyed her speech and her response with a huge smile was well it’s true isn’t it? My brother was in good spirits and we have our Faith but her words broke him. Please I beg of anyone considering her to seek elsewhere. I heard Dr.… Kingsley is a great doctor at Sunrise Hospital.

I concur with all of the previous reviews about Dr. Wierman's lack of basic adequate communication with patients/families and complete staff incompetence. My father was a patient of hers with stage 4 colon cancer and he is now near death because of complications from her treatment. It was nearly impossible to schedule appts. or even contact anyone in her office, she did not personally respond to any inquiries I made about my fathers care, and when he was able to see her she was always running extremely late and never spent more than 5 minutes with him. She also never answered questions directly and would not explain her reasoning for ordering new tests/treatments. Even when I would ask her specific questions about my fathers care she would give a curt sarcastic answer or completely evade it. I personally found her communication skills to be completely lacking. I wish now that we would have gotten a second opinion about his care and chosen a different oncologist.

Dr.Wierman is the most compassionate and caring doctor that I have ever met in my entire life. You are NEVER a number to her nor a time on a appointment book. She listens, she cares and she is without a doubt the very best in her profession. I have referred everyone that needed a Cancer or Hemotologist Specialist to her. There should be more people in the world like her and certainly more doctors like her.

Without question,Dr.Weirman was chiefly responsible for giving me the the great fortune of an extended life to share with my family. She has the unique quality of inspiring hope and feeling she is making the right choices in your treatment.I felt so badly when she left Comprehensive Cancer Center earlier this year, but am elated she is still in Vegas,now with Cancer and Blood Specialists of Nevada.
