Dr. Anna Christine Porter, MD

She was my doctor for years. Her care was fine, but a few days after our appointment she messages me telling me she is leaving UIC. I wish she would have told me sooner before open enrollment ended. I would have changed my insurance to go see a nephrologist at Rush. Its so wrong that she waited after. I bet UIC told her to do this after open enrollment.

I'm a living kidney donor and was matched with Dr. Porter through University of Illinois Medical Center for my follow-up treatment. Although UIC is extremely busy and overbooked, she always took me very seriously and took time to answer my questions. Unfortunately "appointments," while easy to schedule can easily run more than 30 minutes behind because of the transplant center seems to be very, very busy and dealing with many urgent situations. I also really appreciated that she responds personally to phone calls and emails for follow up, even referring me to primary care physicians when it came time to move on.
