Anna Schaller is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC). As a nursing professional, she has over twelve years of clinical experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of psychiatric symptoms, including those associated with anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, bipolar disorder, and those with dual diagnoses. As a mental health provider, she is dedicated to listening to her clients’ challenges, strengths, preferences, and values. Her expertise includes treating a range of complex and specialized psychological challenges such as neurodiverse conditions (including ADHD and autism), life transitions, eating disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and behavioral concerns.Anna conducts psychiatric evaluations taking into account medical history and genetics, diagnoses mental illnesses, facilitates supportive services, and prescribes medications when indicated. Anna's treatment approach includes lifestyle evaluation, psychotherapeutic support, and medication management in an effort to help her clients achieve overall well-being.Anna sees individuals aged 6+.Support We Provide - Providing In-Person and Telehealth Psychiatric Evaluation and Medication Management Psychiatric Evaluation:Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations involve multiple components, including exploring psychosocial factors, life history, substance use patterns and medical history. We will explore problems with memory, thought processes and behaviors.Screening tools can be used to help establish diagnosis along with input from family and friends who know you well. The goal is to understand how thinking, behavior and emotions are impacting your ability to work, function in your community and within your family or social circle. Medication Management:While medication management is not always necessary to manage mental health, it is a tool available. As licensed providers we use a conservative approach, using the least amount of medication necessary. Exploring how exercise, nutrition and other aspects of wellness are important when considering the use of psychotropic medications which we include in our ongoing evaluation. Psychotherapy:Our providers use a combination of techniques, often in conjunction with medication management, to explore themes impacting individuals. We incorporate concepts of mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and trauma informed theory into our practice. We will predominantly offer individual therapy in conjunction with medication management, though may offer individual therapy alone on a case by case basis. Group therapy will be offered periodically for PTSD, Cognitive Processing Therapy and Emotional Freedom Therapy.
