Dr. Anna Ruth Schwartz, MD

Dr. Schwartz combined therapy with medication management. I think this is an important attribute for a psychiatrist to have. She will see you as often as you both feel it is needed. When I started with her, I saw her twice a week. Then I gradually went down to twice a month. Yet when there were times I wasn't doing well, we would go back to weekly sessions. If there is an emergency, she doesn't have a service, she has a system to call her directly to leave a message. If she isn't with a patient or the emergency needs tending to immediately, she calls right back. If she feels the patient can hold off, she will get back to the patient within the hour. She helps teach patients coping mechanisms and relies on the patient to be truthful, cooperative and medication compliant. I would recommend Dr. Anna Schwartz to anyone who wants to really feel well from the mental health issues they have.
