The most satisfying aspect of my job is:  “I love to hear patients say they are so glad they’ve found a dentist that cares for them and treats them like a friend rather than a pocketbook.”
The funniest thing that’s ever happened at Dentistry With TLC:  “We heard through a local advertiser that a scammer was trying to sell false advertising. The police couldn’t catch him because no one could give a good description. When he called us, we told him to come in. I used our digital camera and took his picture so he could be identified. It was fun pretending to be an undercover investigator for a day. The scammer was convicted, and has served time in jail.”
The most challenging aspect of my job is:  “Hearing patients tell me they hate going to the …dentist. We have fun at work and try to make everyone as comfortable as possible. It’s discouraging to hear people say they hate the dentist when we go out of our way to make it a positive experience. It’s sad that so many people have had such terrible experiences in the past.”
Something I wish everyone knew about dentistry is:  “Dentistry is always changing. Each dentist is responsible for learning new technology. New technology makes dentistry easier and more comfortable. Our dentists like learning and constantly implement new procedures and tools.”
What advice would you give a person looking for a dentist:  “Find a dentist that listens to you and cares about your opinion. Find a dentist that loves being a dentist and spends their free time learning new procedures and investing in their practice for the benefit of their patients.”
How do you think Dentistry With TLC is different from other dental offices?  “It’s not about us. It’s all about the patient. Every employee at TLC has a giving heart and will help each other and our patients in every way possible. We work until 8:00 p.m., our doctors do not take lunch breaks and our assistants are highly trained.”
What was your favorite thing about the Christmas Party?  “I loved having all our employees at our home and enjoying an evening away from the office. As a surprise, we gave each of them an ornament with a special award engraved on the ornament, such as “Mr. Congeniality” or “Einstein” or “Best Team Player.” It was fun to watch them be appreciated.”
What was your talent at the TLC talent show?  “I introduced our team to my friend, Toothless Joe. He’s an old, grumpy puppet. I’ve been performing ventriloquism with Joe for about 10 years. We visit elementary schools, retirement communities and churches.”
Is there anything else you would like to say?  “I’m blessed to work with a great team that strives to do their best every day.
