Dr. Anne M Bacon, MD

34 years ago, while away at college, I was summoned to Winchester hospital by my father. I arrived to find my mother in the ICU with total kidney failure and fluid needing drained from her lungs and the pericardial sac around her heart as a result of systemic scleroderma. Being only 19 and still in desperate need of a mother. I began crying fairly hard as Dr. Bacon told us that it was unlikely that my mother would make it through the night. While I don't remember the exact words that she said to me. I know they were along the lines of me needing to calm down and accept the situation. I had always been a person who rarely exhibited strong emotions and certainly wasn't the histrionic teen that she was treating me like. When you get news like that it needs to be delivered with a voice of compassion. I didn't hear that voice and I've never forgotten it. My mother lived 2 years beyond that night with Dr. Bacon as her physician. While compassion may not be a strong point in her… personality, she did know the proper treatments to extend my mother's life. I've rated her as good for her medical and treatment knowledge, but her lack of bedside manner combined with that knowledge does not make her an excellent doctor.

made an appointment and it took a month for RA. they called day before and told me what to bring and also there would be a 20%-40% office fee if i needed blood work. i told them my insurance covers 100% was then told it is office policy to charge for blood work. when i informed them this was a federal violation of the law they hung up the phone on me. called me back 5 minutes later and said that dr. Bacon will not see me as i "am not a good fit for their practice".

My friend was so crushed by Dr. Bacon's rudeness and presumptuous, stereotyping attitude that I would not recommend her for ANYONE. My friend has healthy self-esteem. I have serious concerns for anyone who doesn't if they have to see this arrogant woman. Find a doctor who will care! That is what I will be telling everyone.

I don't know or want to know this woman. I can't in any way call her a doctor for the way she treated my wife who went to see her for possible Psoriatic Arthritis and arthritis in her feet all this woman did was belittle and criticize her for being overweight. I am guessing that only overweight people have feet issues and arthritis in their feet. I don't believe that is the case though. I think this woman is a sad example of compassion and unwilling to try to help anyone. I am glad that some who put in reviews, 2 out of 11 isn't a good track record, and are actually happy with her but with what she has done to my wife emotionally she should be made to apologize to her and any others that she has been crass and rude to. I think that she is probably a very selfish and unsympathetic person though and doesn't think she does anything wrong.

All of you are the rude ones. I have been a patient of Dr. Bacon for 15+ years she has been nothing but nice and respectful. She has taken time out of her day just to talk to me about everything even when I'm not scheduled. At least she takes time to see ALL of her patients instead of sending in a nurse. Also to bring up her children, lady you are completely out of line. All of you are a shame to even think that she is a bad doctor. I know out of many years and other friends that go to her that she is amazing.

Was an awful experience, left crying. She is suppose to be a specialist and she is far from it.. told me to go back to primary doctor for fibro, for me to deal with the pain. Shame on her!!

I do not know where to begin as to why I was so unhappy about my visit to Dr. Bacon. She was very rushed and impatient with me. I did have a Rheumatoid disorder and knew that before I came in. I had been having more issues and she completely blew them off and was uninformative. I found out through another doctor in a completely different specialty that I had another rheumatoid disorder. I do not know her personally but I really can not imagine why she chose this profession if she does not want to take the time and help.

My experience with Dr. Bacon has been outstanding. She has been thorough and has spent the time necessary to listen and provide me with the appropriate treatment for RA. She really seems to care about me.

Don't be late! You will be yelled at by Dr. Bacon. Even if you call 20 minutes prior to appt time ,while you are stuck in accident induced traffic,you will be denied. You will be humiliated, and told patients who are responsible will be seen first, even if you are limping , swollen, and getting sicker due to the new meds. After 10 years of great care in Pa, moving to Va and finding Dr. Bacon first has been a nightmare. Two out of three appointments my 19 year old daughter, (who suffers from severe juvenile rheumatoid arthritis since age 9)has left her appointment crying. When my daughter was explaining to Dr. Bacon that she drove almost an hour that day to be seen, was stuck in traffic ( she spoke to the office staff), and that she called while stuck, Dr. Bacon raised her voice and told her to stop talking. She also made it clear that she is not interested in my daughters needs and pain, she just wanted to get it over with. We never experienced anything so awful and hurtful. We will… drive 4 hours to Pennsylvania before we go back to her. Dr. Bacon owes my daughter one big apology. Dr. Bacon is cold, she is late, she is unprofessional. I would not recommend her to a snake.

very brusque manner; reluctant (impatient) to listen; unwilling to let patient switch to her partner because it may be a better fit, personality-wise.
