Dr. Anne Hughes, MD

Anne Hughes' practice is very irresponsible. As a new patient, I got an appointment on phone for my wife. They didn't have any opening for 3 weeks, but as this was the nearest OB-GYN that was accepting new patients we accepted to wait. Today when we went in for the checkup, the receptionist told us that we didn't have any appointment. Infact she had forgotten to put us into the system entirely. She said there was no open slot today, so we'll have to wait another two weeks for a new appointment. We said we'd much rather go to a much farther away doctor than this one.

I first met Dr Hughes more than 20 years ago. We selected her to manage my wife's pregnancy. She was thorough and explained everything in terms we could understand. She personally delivered our healthy daughter. I've been seeing her ever since and I would never change. She follows up well and keeps excellent records. There have been a couple of times where I've waited for her arrival for a pre-scheduled appointment but it was always in the morning so I'm sure she got caught up in her morning rounds at the hospital. The staff always kept me abreast of her timing. She's very concerned when appropriate and encouraging when things are looking up. I strongly recommend her as a family doctor.

After seeing Dr. Hughes for probably close to 20 years, I'm looking for a new doctor. Her hours are inconvenient, there's always a wait, her office staff may mean well, but they're not very helpful (they don't greet you when you walk in, they don't accept voicemail messages). I'm lucky not to have health issues but I would hate to have to go into Dr. Hughes more than once a year. For the past two years, she has failed to renew my annual prescription or even respond to my pharmacy in a timely manner until I made several calls to the office.

I have been a patient with Dr. hughes for over 15 years... I would consider her family since she delivered my daughter and has gotten me through many stages. She has always been honest, direct, has great bed side manner. She isn't one to push drugs on you if you are not that type of person; she preferes the natural approach first and then move onto the needs, not wants! She truly cares about her patience and what they are going through. I will be so sad when she retires which hopefully wont be for another 20 years! She has always had a great staff and I appreciate everything she does! You would be lucky to call her your family doctor just like my family is!
