I needed a cyst removed from my eyelid that had grown back a 2nd time. It was a big, hard bump that was the first thing you saw when you looked at me. I was nervous to have the surgery. The first time it was removed I had a plastic surgeon do the procedure and he did a good job. When it came back I was heart-broken. My Ophthalmologist at Kaiser recommended that I have Dr. Anne Kao remove it this time. She is also an Ophthalmologist but specializes in eyelid related surgeries. She was so patient with me and compassionate to my "fear" of having this done. I actually saw her twice before I worked up the courage to have the procedure. She made an incision thru the crease in the eyelid and went in this way. There was NO PAIN. The numbing shot was the worst of it and honestly, she was skilled with that as well. She was determined to get all of the cyst so that it wouldn't come back and she took her time. Again, I felt nothing. In the end, it looks GREAT! You would never know I… had it done and the scar is in the crease of the eyelid, not visible unless you really look closely. It's one thing to remove this large bump but another to make it look as though it was never there. Her work was as good as the plastic surgeon. I would highly recommend Dr. Kao for any procedure related to the eyelid and eye area. She definitely knows her stuff, she cares, is patient and does a wonderful job. So relieved and grateful that she was my Dr.!
