Dr. Anne Carissa Killingbeck, MD

When my longtime doctor, Randy Visser, left his practice I started seeing Dr. Killingbeck. I found her to be patient, caring, listened to me and was very thorough. Her nurse was very capable as well. I like the fact she uses her laptop to review and record my visits. It seems to make my visits more effective and she doesn't have to ask repetitive questions about my past visits. I am quite healthy so my visits are few, which other doctors seem to spend too much time "getting caught up" with my past visits. The fact that she was raised in Central Oregon and then returned to practice locally is a plus to me.

I have been to several doctors over the years, and none of them come close to the professionalism and kindness of this one. She has been my doctor for 4 years and has too many attributes to list. Best said Dr. Killingbeck has the rare combination competence with kindness. I would recommend her to anyone, including my own family. I am stunned by some of the negative comments, as my experience with this doctor has been very different. I suspect if you don't want to accept an evidence-based approach, maybe you should seek care elsewhere.

Initially I really liked Dr. Killingbeck, but within 2 years her bedside manner changed dramatically. As I entered my mid-forties , a variety of symptoms cropped up that I had never dealt with in prior years and Dr. Killingbeck didn't act very concerned towards finding a correct diagnosis on any of them. She has a set of basic tests she falls back on but don't expect her to go above and beyond to figure anything out which unfortunately describes many doctors today. My last visit was the last straw when she was extremely short and downright rude to me (including her assistant Amanda), they treated me like I was wasting their time. I usually don't make doctors appts. until I absolutely feel horrible; I'm a busy mother of three boys and as is typical of any mother, we tend to worry about the rest of our families first...so to feel horrible, finally get to the doctor and then have that doctor treat you with disrespect was just too much...and highly unprofessional. I absolutely do not… recommend Dr. Killingbeck (or even Highlakes Healthcare.) There are plenty of great doctors out there...take the time to find the right one!

Dr. Killingbeck has very little empathy. She's not a caring doctor. She's all "by the book", and very efficient. She seems very knowledgeable. In many ways she's probably an excellent MD. But as far as being courteous, friendly, nice, caring, thoughtful...she's about as bad as they come. Also her nurse is much more personable but condescending and in my opinion, unprofessional in her behavior. I saw this doctor several times including a full checkup.

Dr Killingbeck is very thorough, easy to talk to and really listens. Highly recommended!

So I was surfing the internet tonight and decided to check up on my doctor. What a surprise! Such a swing in taste. Either you hate her or you love her. I am not surprised. Dr. Killingbeck has been my doctor for 3 years and after 60 years I think she is the best ever. She is personable and appears up-to-date. Dr. Killingbeck doesn't hold back giving an opinion based upon medical facts not misinformation, and she is not afraid to tell you. I would recommend her to anyone wishing to be treated in a kind and competent manner. But if you want alternative care or are a daily viewer of Dr. Oz, I suggest you find another doctor. Thank you Dr. Killingbeck!

very gudgemental does not listen to problems - already thinks she knows answer - bad

Dr, Killingbeck has been my doctor for over 2 years now. I have never had a more compassionate and caring doctor in years. She is also very thorough and doesn't stop until the problem is solved or under control. If she doesn't have the answers she will refer you to someone that does. I am shocked at the negative reviews that I have read. That is not the doctor I know, trust, and love. I have referred a friend and another who left her doctor and now sees Dr. Killingbeck. She is more than satisfied and is very happy she made the switch. If you are looking for a primary care doctor, I would disregard the negative reviews and make your first appointment with Dr. Killingbeck right away.

I like Dr. Killingbeck and was very impressed upon my wife and I first meeting her. After a couple of years of appointments, I have discovered that she spends quite a bit of time discussing the reason(s) for the visit. She displays great care in diagnosing a problem and the incidentals related to it. Dr. Killingbeck has a great staff! She is a proponent of our taking an active part in our health care.

Being new to the area I needed to establish care with a primary care provider. It took 4 months to eventually get in. It was the worst medical experience of my life. The first thing was being told that she would not be any part of managing my medications, taking care of any symptoms and connected issues, it was devastating. Basically she didn't want to be my doctor. That it should only be managed by a specialist. Which has turned out to be a revolving door nightmare on top of this. She told me that the care and treatment I had previously with my primary care doctor and specialist, in Seattle, was NOT how the "medical community works here". This was very demeaning and humiliating and all I could do is cry. She offered to stop 2 times with the appointment and she would not bill me,.. I was paralyzed with fear in not knowing what to do. It was My MISTAKE was NOT WALK OUT! The remainder of the appointment was listening to my heart and lungs, pressing on my abdomen, nothing else. She… then had the gall to bill my insurance company, at the highest rate possible for a new visit (almost 500.00) and coded it as "new, high complex diagnosis" SHE DIDN'T DIAGNOSE ANYTHING! The worst part was going back the next day signing a release to get my records I had sent to them returned back to me, only to have the next big kicker with the office refusing to give them back.. even though they had not even been scanned into their system. I am finding out that there is a revolving door and ping pong effect with every provider wanting to pawn you off on many other "specialists", which only take months to be seen. It has been nothing short of disheartening, disappointing and humiliating,.. with the "over networking" of this "medical community". I wished I never moved here.
