Dr. Anne Fiona Malave, MD

I honestly could not believe how insensitive and rude she was during my first and only session. She rushed me through my story, jumped to conclusions about me way too soon and said some wildly insensitive things regarding my situation. I left feeling confused, judged and insulted. How could somebody with her level of experience be so terrible at listening and communicating? I honestly cannot understand how there is even one positive review. Are people this gullible?

Dr Malavé has been of great therapeutic benefit to my partner and I as we navigated obstacles and routes to same sex family-making. I am profoundly grateful for her considerable expertise, patient and pragmatic approach, good humor, and wisdom grounded in her specialist training, passion for the work, and profound humanity — so crucial when navigating such sensitive topics. Directness is sometimes required — and I have learned to value her style and approach. I would highly recommend this clinician to individuals or couples interested in knowing themselves and each other better in pursuit of richer, fuller lives.

After going through a pretty traumatic experience in pregnancy loss, I was referred to Anne Malave by a mutual connection. From my first visit to present day, Anne has always made me feel like she understands where I am coming from and always makes me feel warranted in my thoughts. She’s offered me realistic advice and counseling, and has taught me a lot in regards to methods to work through such a tough time in a constructive way. I feel a weight lifted after every visit. If you are struggling with pregnancy loss, infertility or anything in that wheelhouse, I highly recommend her! It’s been a wonderful experience.

I've been seeing Dr. Malave for over a year, and in that time she has helped me work through my stressors to find underlying sources of anxiety. She is empathetic and tough - she is great at challenging you to work though your thought processes, to find the emotional hiding places that you might not otherwise find without someone guiding you around your own obstacles.

One session. Showed zero compassion, jumped to conclusions before having enough information and left me feeling very judged. Really wish I had researched more before I made this appointment.

Rushed and informal, Dr. Malave was keenly inept at counseling me. I found her callous disregard for myself and my feelings highly unprofessional and deeply unsatisfactory. Take your business elsewhere.

I went to see Dr. Malave for fertility issues and found her surprisingly cold and unhelpful. Some of the comments she made were hurtful and unprofessional. After seeing her for a number of months and not being sure about continuing, I left a voicemail saying I wasn't going to return. She never called me back, only sent me a cold letter saying, "I am writing to confirm that you have ended your once weekly individual psychotherapy treatment with me on a voicemail message today. This means you are no longer under my professional care or in my private practice at this time." Yikes. Can you imagine a colder response? I've worked with various practitioners over the years and have never had anyone be so cold. Seek treatment elsewhere.
