Dr. Anne Mary K Montero, PhD

She's a great actress. I thought that Dr Montero was kind when I saw her, but then I saw my medical record... Although she had acted kind and validating while we were together, the amount of disdain and condescension she put in her report was heartbreaking. Working with her has been a crushing experience, especially because she seemed so empathetic in person while hiding the nature of her dispassionate, clinically cold attitude underneath. As a patient, her secretive and judgmental analysis felt like a massive violation of trust, and I feel silly for having believed she genuinely wanted to help me.

Dr. Montero is a different kind of therapist than I have ever seen, and I have seen many. I sensed there was something special about her and I was right. She accepts me as I am and presents a truly caring nature. Then again, If I require a stern correction, I believe she will present that correction with therapeutic intent to guide me She is taking the time to know and understand me and she gave me a few beginning directives. I was skeptical at first about doing them, as I had heard before of similar therapeutic ideas and after me being not so disciplined in the beginning I tried it her way. I am seeing results and feeling more connected. For any therapy to work I believe, I must come with an open mind and a certain amount of trust in the process. I realize, change for better doesn't always happen over the course of a few sessions Dr. Montero I believe has a vast amount of therapeutic knowledge. I am feeling a sense of peace and acceptance of my medical issues today and I am hopeful… for a better life. Thank you Dr. Montero

It took 6 months to get in to see her after seeing dr. Dorwart where he verified that I was a candidate for a back surgery she was in the office all of about 5 minutes I was recommended to go to Centerstone for a psychological evaluation which I passed I have the statement in writing sent that to my disability attorney and my insurance company they are at this time starting a internal complaint and we will be going from there after advising them that she needed to get off her butt and start doing her job I got a phone call the next day from the surgeon saying that I was no longer a candidate I hope we're able to take her license and throw it in the trash can

This one should not be seeing anyone with depression. No help, nothing to add rho the conversation with patient and then refers patient or to some other therapists......WHAT? ARE YOU KIDDING?

Does not listen to patients. Not up on current research. Be careful with this therapist.

I began seeing Dr. Montero a few years ago when psychological stressors were causing me issues with my cyclic vomiting syndrome. This type of help was really the missing key to my overall improvement. She provides support and guidance and the reassurance I need. She helps me see what is going on in my life with a new lens and has created a relationship where I feel safe and supported, which has helped me mature emotionally in ways that I did not even realize were possible. My symptoms and frequency of episodes have reduced dramatically and I am in a much better place than when we first started working together. I would (and already have) recommended her to other people. Don't let the bad reviews steer you away, some clients and therapist just don't hit it off, sort of like dating. Dr. Montero is worth testing out to see if she works for you. I am so very grateful I have her in my life and on my team.

A credit to the profession. Truly cares for her patients. Can not say enough good things about her. Not only changed the quality of like but without a doubt Save my life.

I made a terrible mistake seeing Dr Montero. She wont let me discuss the issues that bother me the most. Wants me to lie to myself and others and pretend everything is great when my depression and anxiety are at its worst. She hasn't shown me any ways to help or alleviate my condition. I got more advise and help from friends and family. She zones out when I'm talking. At times scolds me like I'm a child not an adult patient. She is very conceited and not compassionate. Doesn't know how to really help anyone unless sitting in a chair not paying attention while you talk gives you the "treatment " you need. Save your money and talk to a friend, they will give you more care and concern than you could ever find with this doctor.

My life is better because of my sessions with Dr. Montero and I look forward to our future appointments. I am grateful to see a psychologist that works with my GI doctor and that they both treat the whole person instead of just my physical symptoms. I have not been able to connect with female therapists in the past, but her caring demeanor made an amazing first impression. I really appreciate her and the insight she has given me on my life and emotions.
