Dr. Anneline Kingsley

After visiting this doctor over several months and in sessions with a therapist she suggested that "maybe I just didn't want to be happy". How dare she. Having fought against medication resistant clinical depression for more than 45 years, I cannot think of a more dismissive remark from a so called professional. Her license should have been revoked. This happened years ago, but I will never forget it. I immediately stopped seeing her, and have repeated what she said to other doctors, who were equally appalled. I DO want to be happy, I've battled against depression for more than four decades and I'm exhausted. Living with clinical depression, or any other mental health disorder is not something anybody wants. It is painful, disabling, and negatively impacts your work, your relationships, your health ... every minute of every waking hour. To be told that maybe I just didn't want to be happy was the rudest, most insensitive thing that could be said to me.

I’ve been to my fair share of psychiatrists in almost 20 years. Dr. Kingsley is the only one who actually listens to what I have to say. She doesn’t dismiss anything. She’s willing to think outside the box. In the few years I’ve seen her, I’ve made leaps and bound and got to weed through some misdiagnoses. She helped me to find out what was really going on with me. She is professional, yet very sweet. She’s absolutely one of the best cheerleaders I have. I’m so lucky to have her on my team.

Dr Kingsley has managed my medicines for depression and anxiety.

I have been seeing psychiatrists since I was 16 years old for depression and anxiety. Dr. Kingsley doesn't just write prescriptions - she actually communicates with you and lets you decide what you want to do. I told her, when I first started with her, that I am very sensitive to different medications, and she starts me out on the lowest dose when we are trying something new and titrates upward. I never feel like I'm being forced to try a med or leave feeling confused after an appointment. She genuinely cares about how you are doing. Sometimes, she is running late because she has to see a patient longer to help them, but I think it is worth it because of the quality of the appointment. I would definitely recommend her.
