To sum it up: I cried in my car after. First time seeing her (I was rescheduled from my regular, wonderful, doctor at the practice). She made very unprofessional comparisons and comments about my body vs. hers. I asked her to move on several times and she did not. She asked about my depression and anxiety diagnoses and told me I shouldn’t feel ashamed about that, I told her “oh nope I don’t feel ashamed” and she continued on and on about not feeling ashamed….. which made me feel shamed. Said a variety of insensitive things during the visit and ignored my requests to move on. I’ve never really had a bad doctors visit in my life— pelvic exams are never “fun”, usually a little awkward, but not something I dread. It’s going to take me a while to get over this. The actual pelvic exam was fine and normal.
