Dr. Annette B Horne, DO

I took my mother to this "doctor" to try and figure out if my mom was in the early stages of dementia. She did some half-hearted 10 minute evaluation and sent her home with some samples of Aricept in a brown paper bag, which made my mom violently ill. "Dr." Horne had scribbled the dosage on the outside of the bag and the directions were unclear. Luckily I caught it in time before my mother took any more of the stuff. When I complained to the doctor via email, the clinic mailed my Mom a letter telling her that she was no longer their patient based on "failure to maintain a satisfactory patient/physician relationship". They offered her a generous TWO WEEKS to find another doctor (without listing any other doctors on the letter) before dumping her as a patient. We could have sued for patient abandonment, if not malpractice, but I did not know that at the time.

My mother saw Dr. Horne in 2003 for early signs of dementia. Dr. Horne sent her home with a brown paper bag containing samples of Aricept. Dosage was a 2mg tablet once each day. Dr. Horne wrote on the bag "2 a day". Thank God I caught this error before my mother mistakenly took 2 tablets a day. I emailed Dr. Horne to point out this issue. No reply. A week later my poor mother received a letter from the clinic saying that she could no longer be treated by anyone at that clinic or its affiliated clinic in Emory due to "failure to maintain a satisfactory patient/physician relationship". We could have sued her and won, but I did not know that at the time. I was just trying to care for my sick mother as best I could. I would not trust "Doctor" Horne to treat my cat or dog.

Dr, Horne was in a rush she took less than 5 min for a breast exam and Pap, would not let me even ask her and question about other concerns , I had to call 5 times, write a letter and finally go to the clinic 9 weeks later to get my results for the Pap and blood work, I would not ever see this doctor again
