Dr. Smick should never have taken up psychiatry. She has control issues that lead to her not listening to patients she doesn't like, or offering help and accurate diagnoses.

can be a bit snooty. One of the receptionists, Joanne I think is her name, is great. And she's gorgeous to boot. Dr. Smick is a true pro. She knows her stuff and treats me like I want to be treated.

I think Ms.Smick is condescending and over worked. She obviously is not happy with herself, and complains about having no time to look out the window of her office at the beautiful lake she could gaze at, because she is too busy. I would love a view like that at my office!The policies at your clinic for working people are unacceptable. She put me on the "walk in list" because I had to reschedule twice. I work full-time in a very good job, and own a house and am doing fine. If a business appointment comes up at the last minute for me,and I have to reschedule at the last minute, and I have to cancel in less than 24 hours, I am put on the "walk in list", if I have to cancel the appointment because of work. You guys do not care. Two weeks ago, I had a bad cold, and did not want to come in and spread it to your staff, so I rescheduled. Next appointment after that, I had a last minute call for a hearing for a client, and I was penalized by Ms. Smick to be on the "walk in list" again. Does… she not understand how normal working people's lives go?I cannot take off time to check in early in the am on a Wednesday to get in line for the "walk in list", and show up at 1 pm to wait to see her on a Wednesday, for how long? I Work! Maybe you should re-evaluate some of the rules for working people, and those of us who have minimal problems. I know you deal with a lot of really difficult cases, and you have to make rules,but don't categorize everyone into one category because we are not all the same.I am on medication maintenance every 6 months for Prozac, just because your clinic needs to make money. I have been on Prozac for about 20 years. I have no real problems or issues in my life. I just need the Prozac as it works fine.When I go in to see Ms. Smick, she asks me if everything is fine, it is, and I pay over $100 to see her for about 10 or 15 minutes. Her "bedside manner" is less than desirable, as she appears to be so stressed out. I am switching care to my regular Dr. at Olmsted Medical, and I hope she can issue the medication for maintenance,as I am having no problems. Otherwise, I will have to pay for an intake at OMC, to get my Prozac renewed after 20 years, because Ms.Smick is so anal. I am very turned off by your policies, and Ms. Smick's approach. I hope Ms. Smick can look herself in the mirror, and know she is doing the right thing for her clients, and not just trying to be the controlling and successful female. I hope she can settle down and enjoy life.

Dr. Smick is an excellent psychiatrist. Her first impression may come across as being "cold" to some people, but she is actually a very caring and competent doctor. She has never given up on me and has been willing to "think outside the box" for treatment for my illness.
