Annu Sood, DMD, MPH
Dr. Sood was raised in Charleston, SC and has lived in Chapel Hill since 2000. Dr. Annu Sood graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine in 1996 with a Docorate in Dental Medicine (DMD). The following year she completed a Dental Residency Training in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD Residency) also at the Medical University of South Carolina. After completion of this advanced training Dr. Sood proceeded to practice general dentistry in New York City and worked as a Clinical Instructor teaching dental students at New York University School of Dentistry. In 2000 she began a two year Clinical Research Fellowship in the General and Oral Health Center at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. She performed clincal research and worked as a Clinical Instructor teaching dental students there. Dr. Sood also studied and received a Masters in Public Health (MPH) at the University of North Carolina School of …Public Health in 2002. From 2002-2003 Dr. Sood worked in the Carrboro Health Department Dental Division. In December, 2002 Dr. Sood and Dr. Lohman opened their practice. Dr. Sood has passed licensing examinaions for SRTA (Southern Regional), NERB (North East Regional), and North Carolina State.
Dr. Sood resides in Chapel Hill with her husband Chris, and their daughter Ananya, 5. They enjoy traveling, live music, and all types of spicy food!
