Anoop Sheshadri

Dr. Anoop Sheshadri is a nephrologist who cares for patients with chronic and end-stage kidney disease at the UCSF Nephrology and Hypertension Faculty Practice. He strives to help his patients find medical and lifestyle interventions that will improve their symptoms, quality of life and cardiovascular outcomes.In his research, Sheshadri studies the effects of physical activity on patients who are being treated with dialysis as well as ways to improve their physical activity. He is specifically interested in improving care for older patients on dialysis, as they are especially vulnerable to adverse health outcomes due to the effects of chronological aging and chronic organ failure, and therefore require a more specialized, multi-disciplinary approach than younger adults.Sheshadri earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He completed his residency at the UTSW Medical Center in Dallas.A nephrology fellow at UCSF, Sheshadri is a member of the …American Society of Nephrology and American Kidney Fund. In 2016, he was awarded a Ben J. Lipps Research Fellowship from the American Society of Nephrology and the UCSF Andy I. Choi, MD Memorial Scholarship. He also completed a master's degree in clinical research at UCSF.
