NEGLIGENT. RUINED MY LIFE. MALPRACTICE. Ruined my life I had a varicocele surgery years ago with him. The "simple" procedure went wrong. I lost my testicle after that. He told my parents everything was ok. But it wasn't. He lied to us for at least 8 years, telling us each visit that everything was ok, when it clearly wasn't, until I visited another doctor and told me that my testicle was gone. it was atrophic because Dr atala cut the blood supply during the surgery and NEVER told us. THIS AFFECTED MY MENTHAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH TILL THIS DAY.

Negligent. Malpractice

On the first visit, Dr. Atala began by questioning me if I refused my prenatal ultrasound (which I didn't) and wanting to place blame on someone for not finding my son's issue until he was 6 years old. He barely spoke to my son and made no effort to build a relationship with him. While it may be that there are worst cases, my son is going to be my priority... and to be told "he was born with it and has lived with it for 6 years... what is another 6 months" was very heartbreaking. The reality is that my son had a swollen kidney and is moderately severe ..... of course I am going to want to seek care that relieves his pain as quickly as possible and not be told there was no hurry to fix it.

We had a great experience with Dr. Atala and his staff. Also , they have great follow up, and were always there to answer all our questions

I had heard a lot about Dr. Atala from several of my friends. He was wonderful! a great surgeon who put all of us at ease throughout the entire experience.

We have been seeing him since our daughter was born with spina bifida due to her problems with her bladder. Our daughter is now four years 8 years old, and she looks forward to seeing him every time. He ia a great doctor, and very caring.

Our son had three prior surgeries with supposedly excellent surgeons, but all failed. We took our son to see Dr. Atala after a glowing recommendation from friends whose daughter was also treated by him. The surgery worked! His bedside manner and understandng of the issues were also right on target. Our only regret was not seeing him first!

I went to severa doctors lookig for a diagnosis for my daughter in various centers all over the US. Finally, after 4 yers, I saw Dr. Atala, and my daughter is now well. He is the only one who got it right and treated her correctly. I am very thankful for this doctor!
