Dr. Anthony Avery is the most extraordinary, compassionate doctor I have ever known — he literally saved my life and my hope. In May 2023 a heavy cabinet fell on me at work (captured on security camera), crushing my head and body. I suffered traumatic brain injury (constant headaches, memory loss, nightmares, depression, cognitive fog) and destroyed both knees and my left shoulder. A previous surgeon had already left me with no ACL after four failed surgeries and then dismissed my new injuries. Dr. Avery’s father saw the accident video, shared it with him, and everything changed. Dr. Avery performed successful right-knee meniscus surgery and has been fighting nonstop for my care ever since. Workers’ Compensation approvals take months to years, yet he has written dozens of detailed letters — many on his weekends and days off — begging them to stop making me wait in agony. Just this week (November 2025) he wrote another urgent Medicaid letter the day after I asked because my pain is… unbearable. He sees all of me — the broken body, the broken mind, the endless pain — and treats me with kindness, patience, true empathy, and perfect humor when I need it most. After feeling invisible for years, I finally have a doctor who fights for me like family. Choosing Dr. Anthony Avery was a miracle. Thank you will never be enough.

Doctor Avery saved my leg after I fell down in July, 2024 and had a left hip fracture. He was very attentive listening to my concerns about the pain I was experiencing at that time and later on as well. My last visit was on December, 30, 2024. I was concerned about my limping a little bit and Dr. Avery advised me to buy the inserts for my shoes. I did so on Amazon and I am very happy now as this gives me confidence in the way I walk. Dr Anthony Avery is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon with great bedside manners and a professional demeanor. He takes the time to identify the underlying cause of the pain or problem, explains both the problem and the options for care, and then works with you to develop an effective plan of care. He does not treat medical care like an assembly line, but treats each patient as an individual and follows through with care. An exceptional doctor--especially for sports medicine and related injuries.
