Dr. Anthony Don Bain

I have no idea, for the life of me, why this guy is a PEDIATRIC Dentist. He's horrible with kids. If your kid has super healthy teeth and only ever needs to go in for cleanings, he's fine. You'll hardly see him, and that's a good thing. My daughter went in for a cleaning and everything seemed grand. When she came back for a cap, it was a completely different story. First of all, she was given the sedative. We were then sent back to the general waiting area. This doesn't even make sense. Shouldn't a child be under supervision after those drugs are administered?!! Second, finally in the chair, the assistant was super nice and awesome. Then, Dr. Bain enters. This guy has zero compassion for kids with even the slightest amount of anxiety or trepidation. He attempted to "calm" my child through intimidation. Then, after she gets the shot, he leaves the room. The assistant proceeds to put this thing in her mouth that did not allow her to shut her mouth. She sat there with her mouth open,… waiting for the dentist to come back. Finally, he comes back and completes the procedure after more intimidation. After he finishes, he makes a comment about all the "drama". My six-year-old is so upset, crying. The Dental assistant says, "you can't leave until you stop crying." Excuse me?! This guy was hostile, a child has a reaction to the bad treatment and they're told to be quiet?! The whole thing just doesn't sit well with me as a parent. BTW, due to annoying insurance changes, my daughter has seen 4 different dentists. Not only does Dr. Bain have the WORST bed-side manner, he was the SLOWEST.

I have two children that I have taken to Dr Bain ever since each of them had teeth. Great atmosphere, great people and a great job in keeping my kids teeth clean. Keep up the good work.

My wife took my daughter here today to have some teeth extracted and some other work done. We were referred by Pflugerville Modern Dentistry who spoke highly of this place and said they are great with kids. However, all they did was give my daughter some sedatives and refuse to do the work but still charged us $130 and refused to refund us the money even though the dentist refused to do the work. Apparently they charge you the money, drug your kid, and then refuse to do the work because the child has too much anxiety. Then they want you to schedule a more expensive procedure with them for which they would gladly credit your $130 to but will not refund the money otherwise. Seems like a scam to me- to get your money even though they know, or at least they should know if they are competent, that this method is not feasible and something more will be necessary. I would avoid this place like the plague unless you like being charged a lot of money to rule out unnecessary procedures.
