Dr. Anthony Chavez, MD

Dr. Chavez is 100% the absolute WORST doctor on this earth!!!! BEWARE AND AVOID!!!!!! One of my family members was rushed to the ER due to severe stomach pain and they discovered she had a 9 cm ovarian cyst!! She was then admitted to Woman's Hospital of Texas in the care of Dr. Chavez. Three days after spending time at Woman's Hospital under his care, although her cyst had not decreased in size, he told her she was not a candidate for emergency surgery and sent her home with a prescription for a very strong, addictive-type pain med. Also, the manner in which he spoke to her, made her cry!! Upon release from his care, she then followed up with a reputable Ob-Gyn in Clear Lake, who not only said she needed surgery asap, but also discovered that her cyst was now 15 cm and that torsion had begun! The surgery was successful and thankfully her ovary is unharmed. Again, if you are seeking a new doctor, avoid Dr. Chavez at all costs and if you are a current patient of his, RUN FAST!!!!

I have been with Dr. Chavez for the 42 years he has been in practice. He was an Intern/in training when my 2nd child was born, took over that doctor's practice, and 7 years later delivered my 3rd child. My children are grown now and I have no plans to change doctors that are closer to my area of town. I always receive kindness from him. He is gentle in his exam and has never hurt me. Dr. Chavez listens attentively, answers my questions, talks TO me, and doesn't act like he has to leave to get to someone else. His practice has really grown over the years so, because I hate to wait, I always go early morning.

He delivered my daughter she is 3 now I'm pregnant with my second BBY as long as he alive he will deliver all my kids .

HORRIBLE!!!! I intended to get a new patient appointment with Dr. Chavez, Olivia got my information and asked me to hold for over 45 min. then got back on the phone and rudely said we don't accept your insurance. I was very upset because she could have told me off the back my insurance was not accepted. I was given Dr. Chavez information as one of the Dr. whom accepts my insurance. OLIVIA was very rude and unprofessional!!!

Dr. Chavez delivered my 1st & 2nd child. I did have to see the midwife Jane on occasion due to emergencies that would arise for Dr. Chavez, but never did mind, as she is just as attentive & informative on every visit. I did have concerns with my 2nd child/delivery and Dr Chavez was very committed to both me and baby's safety and needs all he way through. The staff is very caring and also tended to after hr needs and getting Dr Chavez through to me directly on possible labor and check in procedures into the hospital. I love the hospital even more. He did come regularly to check in me after delivery while in the hospital and saw him a few months out after delivery. He will be delivering my 3rd child as well. The wait time is an issue for some people but all you hear throughout the waiting room to "new" patients from existing ones is----"he's worth the wait!" and that he is!

Dr. Chavez is a great doctor he deliverd both of my sons, He answered all of my questions and was always there when I had an appointment. I just loved going in to my appointments that how excited I was! Overall everyone is really nice, the waiting is sometimes long, but it's so worth the wait. You wont be disappointed with Dr. Chavez, he knows what he is doing!

He was a good Doctor the only problem is that they take for ever in the waiting room but other than that he was a great Dr.

He is a great doctor! Jane is great! Yes i know i saw jane (midwife) for most of my appointments, and i understood that he had a busy schedule and had c sections and delivered babies when ever he didnt see me, an i was ok with that! Appointments were easy! Sometimes it was packed but most of the times i was out within an hour! The girls at the front desks were great, especially jessica, she always remembered me by name, made me feel special, like they really cared! Ultrasoubd tech was wonderfull and explained everything nicely!!! When i would call about concerns during buss. Hrs and after hours i would always get a call back! After hours, dr chavez called me right back, didnt take too long!! And when i was 38 weeks pregnant, 2 days shy of 39, i called him concerned and he asked me to go to the hospital to get it checked out, well i had high blood pressure and was about to get indunced, but i delivered without gettinginduced! He was very caring ans professional at the delivery! He… helped me a lot! Delivery was fast an he would check up on me every day i was at the hospital! He delivered mu first baby and i will for sure have him deliver my second baby!!! Best doctor ever!!!

I'm writing a review because the phone staff is so rude. I'm not surprised after reading another review that the woman over the phone wouldn't change her appointment. The woman taking appointments needs to be evaluated, she's terrible. I'm having my third child, 2nd with Dr. Chavez. As far as him and his midwife they're wonderful. I lost so much blood with my last child and Dr. Chavez was very calm directing the 20+ nurses in the room. My husband was very impressed. I miscarried my next child and every time I called about bleeding even light they told me to come in. While there the nurse said if its heavy accompanied with pain go to the ER. I called to Dr. Chavez answering service after midnight when I was miscarrying and they called him at home. He answered sleepy of course. The doctors at the ER examined me and gave me pills to get everything out. He visited me and was wonderful. I have yet to see him for this child but I'm already running into problems with appointments!!!

I have yet to see him and Yes I feel like I have made a big mistake switching doctors. I was having pain and bleeding and since he is my OB/GYN I made a phone call to let them know what's going on and If he could see me before my schedule appointment and the receptionist said NO I have to go to E.R Dr. Chavez can't see me before my schedule appointment. Them knowing the E.R wait and the pain I was having I felt like it was rude and I didn't feel any compassion for these people. Another thing that bothered me when I was scheduling the appointment the receptionist stated that a midwife will see me on that day and not Dr. Chavez how inconvenient knowing this will be my first visit and letting a midwife see me instead of a Gynecologist. I don't feel this is right and YES I AM SWITCHING DOCTORS AGAIN.
