Dr. Anthony Christopher Cirino, MD

Beyond horrible. This whole place is a mess. I have been waiting to Dr. Cirino to provide a consultation on my eye for a week (was told 24 hours) and i get a call asking me to come in with 1 hour notice. I was at work and had to leave unexpectedly, then had my pupils dilated with no warning (and therefore, no ride home prepared). On top of that, Dr. Cirino TEXTS his friend and schedules me for a surgery for TWO DAYS LATER. He provides absolutely no information on the procedure or the issue in my eye. I still have no idea if this is an emergent need that needs to be addressed ASAP or if I’m just being squeezed in because his “buddy has an opening.” I was left in the exam room, and had to request to see the doctor again several times. When Dr. Cirino comes back, he repeatedly tries to explain the issue with my eye using images, and I have to remind him several times that I cannot see as I was instructed to take my contacts out (as his job not literally to work with people who are having… difficulty seeing...?) He also refuses to give me any information about the actual procedure except on his way out, when he *casually* mentions that I may need to take at least two weeks off of work to recover. From a surgery that he scheduled. IN TWO. DAYS. I am someone who will always prioritize my health over everything else but I was consistently made to believe that my eye issue was no big deal. I have made 0 preparations and again, I still have no idea if this is an emergency or not! Dr. Cirino did not consider for one moment that I may have a JOB or CHILDREN or any other reason to prepare for a 2-week recovery period. He & everyone in this office consistently sugar coated everything to the point where became dangerous to my health and drastically impacted my life & livelihood. Avoid at all costs.

I was very scared to see a retinal specialist . Dr Cirino and his staff were top notch and the care I got was fantastic. He helped me to understand my eye condition and spent a lot of time with me. The treatments have worked well and I owe it to his exceptional care. Kaiser has been great and they are lucky to have Dr. Cirino.
