Dr. Anthony David Colvin, MD

Wait time was far too long, anthony colvin seemed far more interested in his other patients despite me arriving 15 min before my scheduled appointment. His lack of care for treating my colitis was so disappointing, especially because carolina digestive has a silly rule where you can only switch providers once. To every concern he was unapologetically aloof, and instead of educating or correcting my assumptions, he condescendingly repeated phrases that sounded like they were printed on the back of pill bottles. He wasn't willing to work through any of the concerns I brought up, and was only interested in prescribing me the typical meds for colitis, which I repeatedly stated didn't work well enough for me. There was no enthusiasm of drive for the man to help me, I was definitely just another sick paying customer to him. On top of the crappy service, it was beyond slow. Imagine waiting an hour for a crappy mcdonalds hamburger and after receiving it you realize the order was incorrect.… That's how it feels to be a patient of Anthony Colvin and carolina digestive as a whole.

A MUST PLEASE READ!!!! My husband had an appointment for an Endoscopy at Carolina Health Associates (Anthony D. Colvin, MD). Walk in the office there is not enough seating for social distancing, so you have to wait for 3 hours in your vehicle. The reception was impolite and inconsiderate she did not ask for information. There was no welcoming atmosphere. The receptionist did not introduce herself, nor did she ask who I was. I was dismiss to go to my vehicle and my husband would walk out after the procedure. I ponder of this behavior as many patients are going in and out. There were no beverages or snacks. I had to ask for the nurse myself to explain what would happen after my husband wake up and the expectations for the day. I’ve been with my parents at a place located in Charlotte so I know what the expectations’ should be. 1. Everyone should be greeted and names need to be taken for emergency’s not to walk away with the assumption he/she know I’m going to call or walk to the… vehicle. 2. The Nurse should speak with the person that will be the driver that day, a person that is being sedated……. anyone in their right mine knows with any anesthetic you want remember everything. 3. For safety reason a patient should be rolled out in a wheel chair, not just walk out. 4. The Doctor should have come out and introduce himself to the family member and patient 5. Also the receptionist could have ask the make and model of my vehicle I was driving. WHERE IS THE COMPASSION patients are all ready feeling apprehensive?

Dr. Colvin saw my mom at Atrium Health Pineville Medical Center today because he was the doctor on call. He was the rudest doctor I have ever met. I asked him how his Thanksgiving was and he replied, “That was yesterday.” My mom and I were asking questions about her treatment and he said, “I’ve known you for less than 5 minutes.” He couldn’t even tell me what the blood tests they ordered were for, but he then said it’s just Gastro paresis and IBS as far as he knew and all they can do is give her medicine for it. I could go on, but I’d be typing a lot. His partner Dr. Cyzner, did her endoscopy yesterday, but never came to talk to us afterwards. Instead he sent his nurse to hand me some papers with the results and a new prescription for a medicine he wants us to order from Canada because it’s no longer available in the U.S. The nurse couldn’t answer any of my questions and my mom was still loopy from the sedation, so we had no way to get answers. There were absolutely no reasons… given on the paper for the change in medications, why it was pulled from the U.S. market, and how someone gets a prescription from Canada, as if everyone is supposed to know how to do that. Dr. Colvin couldn’t answer that question, except to say he had one patient doing it, but didn’t elaborate further. Then he suggested my mom be released today even though we just told him she can’t keep anything she’s eating down! Thank God the hospital doctor has more sense and is actually paying attention to how much diarrhea and vomiting episodes she’s having. He said if I sent you home now, you’d end up right back here severely dehydrated again because you can’t get IV fluids at home. Who knows what would have happen if Dr. Colvin had been the one in charge of the decision to discharge her? I’m not sure if he even read her chart before coming in the room.

Dr Colvin is so caring, concerned and consderate regarding my health issues. I have gone to him for over a decade and always receive the upmost care. His office has always been responsive and helpful. I highly recommend him.

This doctor did absolutely nothing for may son who has a severe case of crohns. I would not recommend this Doctor.

Saw Dr. Colvin for chest and throat pain. Put me on high dosage of Omeprazole. Had to wait over 1month to be scheduled for endoscopy. He ordered a barium swallow which showed something out of the ordinary. Still don’t know what that was because he has his nurse call and give results. When asked about it before endo, he doesn’t remember what he saw. Horrible bedside manner. Extremely dismissive. Still having pain for over 3 months. I do not recommend. There are other, much better choices for your healthcare.

Late for every single visit, office and procedure for the several years I was a patient .This shows in every aspect of being his patient. You are never sure what has just happened and what will happen regarding your health being Dr. Colvin's patient. His office staff is a reflection of him, not managed very well. Perhaps he should reevaluate being a physician. All this makes me feel he is incompetent as a healthcare provider. I would hate to hear someone was injured by his lack of care or attention.

I first met Dr. Colvin when I was taking my Mom to see him. He was fantastic with her, giving her time to explain how she felt and what he would do to help her fell better. She always liked her appointments with him. Now that I am seeing Dr. Colvin, I too find him very easy to talk to and he takes the time to explain what test he needs to do and why. I would greatly recommend him to everyone.

Dr. Colvin likes to be right, If he suspects something and he turns out to be wrong then he prescribes lots of meds (that usually don't work). He doesn't explore other options or consult with other doctors. If you don't have what he first suspects then he pretty much writes you off as a complainer. Thankfully I was able to find another doctor that when through my full medical history, did research and was able to refer me to a different doctor who was experienced enough to fix my issue and now I'm able to live a normal life.

Dr. Colvin is a jerk. His bedside manner is terrible. All he wants to do is test, test, test and then nothing happens to get you better. He talks down to his patients.
