Dr. Anthony Carl De Franco, MD

His experience, knowledge, and compassion are outstanding. He is very approachable and explains everything about my health. He takes time to answer all my questions and explains it in a manner that I can understand. His knowledge is irreplaceable. I am confident in his recommendations and follow them as recommended.

I met Dr. Defranco in the emergency room several years ago. I thought I was having a heart attack. This was my second visit in two days. The first ER doctor I saw admitted me and had me on an observation status. I was released but returned that day with the same issue. Dr. Defranco was an attendant and readmitted me. He ordered several tests and discovered several problems with my heart. Although I did not have a heart attack I did have issues that needed to be addressed. Since that event, I have seen Dr. Defranco at least once a year as a follow-up. He has always been authentic and sincere in his concern for my health. During my appointments, he has inquired about anything affecting my heart and general health. I had COVID-19 in February 2024 and as a result, have residual effects of the infection. He had me take a stress test to diagnose and seek any issues.

In 2017 at age 48 I had a heart attack and had a stent placement by Dr. DeFranco. I felt like he saved my life! Which he did. He is an amazing man and physician. His knowledge is irreplaceable. I follow his recommendations and my life has become richer from knowing him. They do not make doctors like Dr. DeFranco anymore. He is the real deal.

I saw Dr DeFranco last Spring as a new patient. I am asymptomatic, however my younger siblings have both recently had the "widow-maker." Clearly I was concerned about my own heart health. Dr. De Franco was kind and thorough and did extra research regarding a question I had. He gave me peace of mind-he is the BEST!

I transferred to Dr DeFranco from another Cardiologist in 2021 after I felt my previous Cardiologist failed to identify and treat medical issues that I had going on inside my cardiovascular system. Dr DeFranco has excellent knowledge and a thorough approach with every diagnostic tool-test available. He listened to me and went after the root cause to identify all of my cardiovascular issues. I do believe that one of the reasons I’m still here on this earth is because of Dr DeFranco’s compassion and care for me as his patient. Dr DeFranco and his team helped me to do what was needed to get my heart back to good health. Dr. DeFranco has been my Cardiologist since 2019. After reviewing my initial cardiac stress test results; he was not quite satisfied. Rather than waiting for an echocardiogram, he felt compelled to conduct a cardiac catherization instead. Doing his due diligence, it was discovered I needed quadruple bypass surgery, which I believe saved me from a potentially fatal situation. With each subsequent visit, Dr. DeFranco has shown his professionalism by thoroughly explaining medications and previous medical procedures. He also has been helpful in giving me information concerning updates in medical care regarding my anticipated kidney transplant. Dr DeFranco is informative, knowledgeable and reasonable in his practice. We find him to be very personable and efficient.

Nice personality and attempts to genuinely care at a surface level. Had cardiac cath done with no sedation and this doctor left the room with students monitoring as a massive hemorrhagic stroke was taking place. Once he finally decided to come back to check on things he was quick to respond to the crisis and reverse the stroke. He stayed to make sure all went well with the stroke reversal. However at a later appointment he lied about the situation denying he ever left the room to protect himself. I agree with the other review someone wrote that he is ego driven. After this experience, lost trust in most cardiologists and their integrity.

I'm 45, I was running marathons, I've never smoked, but i had a threatened heart attack. Sure, Dr DeFranco put in a stent to open my "widowermaker" (I'm a woman). Dr. D was not content to stop with just my high bad cholesterol (which was 210). He told me that not only did i have something called "HeteroFh" and that I needed a new drug to treat it, but that I also had "High Lp(a) and that these two things cause my attack. But he didn't stop there - he insisted that because these diseases (I had never heard of them) we screen my children and my 2 brothers and he actually took the time to call their doctor to explain why they needed these special tests, too. I took a stress test at another center because I had been experiencing chest pains. Dr DeFranco explained to me that the first hospital did not interpret the stress test correctly. He performed another, I was admitted for 5 bypasses by Dr. Weiss, and I was home in 5 days. Thanks, Dr DeFranco, for saving my life
