Dr. Anthony Louis Gallo JR., MD

My first experience with this doctor was the worst ever. He was condescending, rude, and made me cry. Do NOT go to him.

Saw Dr Gallo for a number of years. Report him to the RI Department of Health. He is dangerous. Why did the whole Lifespan Corporation fire him?

Awful. 5-8 min visits. Condescending. Unhelpful. When I asked for advice he said "What do you think I should do " He has this fake insincere calm voice that is maddening. He's not engaged. Doesn't listen. Dismissive. After moving to a new Dr who changed my meds because he listened to me. Have to go to Providence but it's worth it. On my first visit with the new Dr, he prescribed new meds. I'm now on the right medication with very significant improvement. If Gallo had listened I would not have wasted so much time being in emotional pain. I don't know how he's still practicing. I think he hired a company to clean up his online reputation because you'll see wildly different reviews depending on the site.

I beg, absolutely beg you to not see this provider. He is egotistical, arrogant, selfish, and does not care about anyone but himself. He is absolutely reactionary to the smallest thing. He spends 5 minutes MAX AND CHANGES HUNDREDS! how is it possible that a provider can write scripts for such important medications when he can't manage minimal affect regulation. He's short tempered and YELLS at patients. He refuses to write scripts in a timely manner, which causes significant lapses in medication.... Do . Not. Go. Yo him!

Just had my first appointment with Dr. Gallo and I couldn’t be any happier! He was kind, listened and was HONEST. I appreciated the honesty he gave and the compassion he showed while delivering the message even through a video. Thank you Dr Gallo, wish there were more doctors out there like you!

I was not a fan of his in the 6 months of being his patient to begin with and was actively looking for a new doctor while being in his care. Advice he gave me was extremely questionable and unprofessional. I asked, family, good friends and other Doctors about concerned advice he gave me and not ONE person could understand why a Dr in his profession would give such an outrageous and concerning advice he gave to me. Secondly, he knew nothing about me nor did he even care to ask me questions about me or my life as a whole. Telehealth visits last anywhere from 5-8 minutes and that was it! Most times he was either yawning or rubbing his face as if he was trying to wake up. I was lucky enough to find another Dr and not a moment too soon. This was the straw that broke the camels back. Dr. Gallo called into my pharmacy and gave the wrong dosage and I didn’t realize it until I got the medicine home. I wasn’t angry and actually I was in a great mood but, did call the office to let him know… he screwed up the dosage and that he could call me back the next day when he was back in the office. Well, not a minute after I hung up Dr Gallo called me back (after hours) to ream me out. He actually had the nerve to talk to me as if I were his child by telling me that he doesn’t “screw” up and that it was a mistake. I offered an apology and let him know I meant no harm by saying “screwed” up but, he wasn’t having it. An apology was not good enough for him. He just ranted and raved for 5 or so minutes. Then told me that maybe HE wasn’t the right doctor for me. You got that right Dr. Gallo! I deserve so much better and more from a doctor! Perhaps PTSD with that word? Luckily for me I don’t have to know. I read his reviews before I chose him for my care thinking maybe some of the reviews weren’t totally accurate. Well, if your reading this apparently ALL of us former patients have valid reasons for leaving him.

I saw Dr. Gallo a while ago and just want to leave a few words of caution to other potential patients. Dr. Gallo is a very cold, egotistical person to deal with. Everything about this guy is off. First off he will sit with his back to you and type on his computer while talking to you. Second, he minimizes your thoughts and feelings. Why do you ask? Well, because he is far superior to you that is why! Third, he gives false information about medications and their withdrawal side effects. What do I mean? He discounts medically factual information from not only the patient going through the withdrawal but also major studies from places like Harvard to name only one of many. Yes, he will look you in the eye and in a condescending way tell you that you're full of Sh!% for thinking these things. He is not right in his head so there is no way he will be able to help you with yours. A little fun fact about the Dr.? He specializes in EST commonly known as Electro-Shock Therapy. That's just the… icing on the cake! Stay away from this man at all costs!!

Dr. Gallo does not listen. I didn’t feel as though he even recognized that I was a living, breathing human being. He was very aloof, bored and disinterested. I could have overlooked his bed side manner if he helped me. He did not, and I don’t think he is competent in his recommendations. On the positive side he was prompt and got me in quickly for an appt.

Sadly, I do not recommend Dr. Gallo. He does not listen well, minimizes your feelings/experience and is condescending. His appointments are very quick. He doesn't ask many questions and seems to be annoyed when you ask him questions. I think I deserve more as a patient.

My husband who suffers from bipolar went to see dr gallo. He explained to him he suffers from substance abuse and alcoholism. In turn he diagnosed my husband with ADHD and has been giving him amphetamines the last four months regardless of him saying FIRST visit he is an addict. Now we are looking into rehab centers. Pure negligence. I thought I could trust this doctor with my husbands care- I was very wrong
