My son was born last Sept. One day a woman come in and did hearing test and state it is state mandate test so we let her. A few month later we received a bill of $395! Our insurance initially refused to pay for it since the claim was not filed with correct ID. The doctor has one ID and the center had one ID. After I called and claim that new born hearing test is mandated by state and it was conducted within a in-network hospital, the insurance agreed to pay for around $100, since the insurnace only allow $126 total and I need to pay for co-insurance. I wonder why the hearing test is so much more expensive when out-of-networking. The test took less than half hour and they probably can do 10 tests per day. That's $4,000 dollar a days revenue a day. Also it looks like they intentionally keep out of network for most, if not all insurance companies so they can always charge a higher price than the allowable amount by insurance company.

My son was put in the NICU at Centrastate after a normal C-section delivery. He was a normal, healthy 9lb baby and was put there per Dr. Marino instructions to. He never met with us when asked to several times always told he and the drs of his practice were too busy (THERE WERE 4 OTHER BABIES ONLY THEY WERE CARING FOR IN THE NICU) and then had no problem charging our insurance and balance billing us on top of it. I would never recommend him to any mother who cares for her baby! No care or concern. We were not even informed of the reason he was put there until we complained to the hospital managers of his behavior. Unacceptable. We never left the NICU for the 2 days he was there only to go to the bathroom my husband and I never even slept and he did not check on him ONE TIME!
