Dr. Anthony Jon Meier, MD

Experiencing Dr. Meier's medical care felt like a regression to a more paternalistic and less patient-focused era. He adhered to a philosophy where the patient's role is largely passive, a stark contrast to the collaborative approach I had appreciated previously. Dr. Meier overlooked the significance of my progress in a challenging health issue, opting instead to label the issue as a simple moral choice and discontinuing a crucial part of my treatment. His approach felt dismissive and failed to recognize the intricacies of my medical history.

This doctor lied about his position and took the time to call me from his personal cell phone. He allowed a documented pill addict to take oxycodone and blamed others when asked why he continued this medication. He said he was the head of McLaren geropsych, however McLaren denies he works for them. Do yourself a favor and find a better doctor. Preferably one who does not lie.

Picks and chooses his patients based on the medications they have to take. Only accepts patients with easy cases and easy diagnosis

Due to poor advice I ended up in Sparrow for 12 days. After 25 yrs seeing and trusting him I found a dr I can trust.

Great DR. Takes time and answeres all questions from the patient. He will not hesitate to refer to a carefully selected DR of a specialized field.

Dr. Meier has served my family and myself for a number of years. I have found him to be most caring and willing to assist the patient with their medical needs. I've found him to be patient, and understanding. He makes one feel like they are part of his family. I've recommended him to others and will continue to do so.

Dr. Meier did not do anything except read my answers to the questions his staff sent and ordered usual tests. Learned he is religious, has wife and he joked with staff member on way out of door. Did not examine me in any way. Could not access his staff in Haslett for months. They did not know how to use phone system was excuse. Left numerous messages at south Lansing office. Nothing ever came of that either. Very poor experience!!!!

One of the most caring docs I've ever met. Will spend as much time as it takes with a patient. Very smart, but always speaks across, not down. Good sense of humor. A hugger!
