    Dr. Tony Menendez began his dental practice in Port Charlotte, Florida in 1986. He is a graduate of Emory College and Emory University College of Dentistry in Atlanta Georgia. He is dedicated to the philosophy of the Academy of General Dentistry and the pursuit of life long learning. As a graduate of the two year Comprehensive Dental program of the University of Florida College of Dentistry,  Dr. Menendez was eligible to attain Fellowship (FAGD) in the Academy of General Dentisty. After passing a rigorous exam, he was awarded his Fellowship in 2004. Upon graduation from the Comprehensive dental program, Dr Menendez continued as a visitng faculty member at the University of Florida College of Dentistry working with Comprehensive Dental program participants. Â

 Beginning Novemeber 1, 2011 Dr. Menendez will begin his term as President of the Florida Academy of Dentistry. He is currently  a …member of the advisory committee to the University of Florida's College of Dentistry's department of continuing dental education. In 2005, after completing 1100 hours of continuing education including 600 hours of participation in specific disciplines, Dr. Menendez was awarded the prestigious Mastership status (MAGD) in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Menendez was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Florida Academy of General dentistry in 2008 and was subsequently named membership Chairman of the State organization. In 2009 Dr. Menendez was elected Vice President of the Florida Academy and is now a member of the national organization's membership council. Dr. Menendez' commitment to learning and volunteerism earned him the Life Long Learning and Service Recognition Award (LLSR) from the Academy of General Dentistry: one of only 126 other general dentists to receive this award nationally. The Consumers Research Council has named Dr. Menendez to the list of "America's Top Dentists" each consecutive year since 2005.
