Thank God for the attention paid by Dr. Anthony M Schlake to my condition. When I moved from California to North Carolina after undergoing Prostate Cancer Radiation treatments in CA, the radiation had damaged my bladder as well as my prostate and other organs. Dr. Schlake listened to me regarding my pain. He decided to insert a super pubic catheter directly into my bladder. What a difference that made. For about two and a half years everything went along fine, but then, the pain began and continually got worse. Dr. Schlake then found, through examination, that my bladder and urethra were disintegrating. My options at this point were limited. He explained that a highly complicated surgery would be necessary and it was not an easy operation and recovery was difficult as well When my pain level reached a 9 on a scale from 1-10, I wanted to give up. Dr. Schlake consulted with Doctors he knew at the University of TN Medical Center who had successfully performed the… surgery with success. After being accepted at the University Medical Center.
