He graduated from Northwestern University School of Dental Medicine in Chicago, Illinois and completed a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at LIJMC-Schneider Childrenâ€™s Hospital in New York. Dr. Scoma is a senior attending at Rady Childrenâ€™s Hospital and has been in private practice in San Diego since 2001.
Dr. Scomaâ€™s soft demeanor and caring personality places each child in a relaxed setting, allowing them to enjoy their time in the office. He feels strongly that every parent needs to be actively involved in the care of their childâ€™s dental development, and therefore encourages each parent to be with the child for all well-visits, periodic examinations and treatment appointments. Parents are NOT allowed in the back. I found this TO BE EXTREMELY absurd. Is this common practice? I'm not a fan of this. I asked to go back with my child and dentalassistant said no as well as doctor.

Excellent as always! We love Dr Scoma! Best Pediatric dentist in town and his staff is awesome!

Every part of the process was carefully explained to me and my son and every effort was made to make him the most comfortable during his whole procedure. All my follow-up questions were answered and a list of expectations was thoughtful and very comprehensive. THANK YOU!!

Dr Scoma and his team are so professional and go above and beyond to make the dentist experience a positive one for our children. Our son had a cracked molar and Dr. Scoma worked through lunch to remove it immediately so that it would not cause further problems. He really treats every patient as if they were his own child. Dr. Scoma is a great pediatric dentist and I highly recommend him.

Great visit, everyone was very friendly and professional. Dr. Scoma and his assistant were awesome with my 16 year old. Spoke to her in a way that she could relate.
