Dr. Anthony A Somogyi, MD

The office address listed online is an old office. Google needs to update their new address or at least the office manager needs to have it updated online. The waiting room was nice and clean. His receptionist seemed kind and polite. The wait time was about 15-25 mins. We were visiting as a new patient. My fiance came in to be seen and we believe the doctor has a terrible bedside matter. Dr. Somogyi seemed more interested in letting us know that my fiance is overweight and does not match the "normal" BMI scale for his height. We almost had left because he started to argue with my fiance because of this. (Mind you my fiance is 5'11 and has more muscles due to weight lifting and playing football, other than a runny nose and sinus infection my fiance is very healthy despite being "overweight" ) If we wanted a dietitian, we would be seeing one. Not an internist... We found it incredibly rude and the doctor's mannerism seemed distasteful. He seemed rather cold and not really attentive to my… fiance and his care. We wanted to find a pcp that we can build a relationship with but Dr. Somogyi did not seem interested in that so we wont be coming back to this doctor in the future. Two stars only because the office was clean and he seemed to have a nice staff, other than that don't expect much from this doctor

I've been a patient of Dr Somogyi for over 20 years. I started at his fresh meadows location and remember his two RN, Helen and Cheryl (sisters), who were also wonderful. I continued my care with him in his Bayside location. I am very picky about my medical care and is very selective as to who I chose. I also work in a hospital setting and know a great Doctor when I see him. He knows my health very well, he always take time to answer my questions, sends me to the best specialist as needed and really follows up as promised. I strongly recommend him to others. My own family members are also seen at this office and I even know physicians who receive care by him. He is very approachable and old school in his treatment style.

I have been a patient of Dr. Somogy for many years. He has always been pleasant and responsive. I recommend him highly.

The only thing he is good at is collecting your co-pay. Whatever you do, do not put your life in his hands. Find a doctor who actually cares about your health, not your money.

I find Dr. Somogyi and excellent doctor. He is very thorough and insightful in his evaluations/diagnoses, where others have failed. I have heard he is not "Dr. Personality," even from my own family who have gone to him, however, he has always been very professional, kind and respectful to me. And, again, an excellent doctor. His nursing and office staff are excellent as well. I would recommend him highly.

Unfortunately,this Doctor lacks even the minimal bedside manner requirements.He is arrogant and does not want his judgement to be questioned.He does not spend enough time with a patient and fails to take sufficient time or have sufficient compassion,to explain the disorder,tests or treatment.I DO NOT recommend him.
