Dr. Anthony Ming Szema, MD

Excellent Dr. very thorough and communicates with the patient better than any Dr I’ve ever had. He gives you his finding and unlike other drs who continue to use fancy words and descriptive, Dr Szema breaks down every condition and diagnosis for the layman to easily understand. I wish every Dr was as thorough, knowledgeable and caring as Dr Szema

Dr. Szema saved my life. I was suffering from chronic sinusitis and severe asthma after returning from Iraq. I saw a legion of doctors over a 12 year period that did nothing but shrug their shoulders at me and I continued to deteriorate. Dr. Szema is the only doctor that recognized what was happening to me and treated me properly.

Dr. Szema was very thorough during my visit. He didn't rush me and made sure to ask many questions to decide the direction to take in my care. His suggestions were well taken and we felt very comfortable with him.

Would highly recommend Dr. Szema. Had two recent encounters. He takes the time to explain problems, although some of the language was way over my head with medical lingo Theoffice is run by very eager and respectful med students and trainees who try very hard to make sure everything is run smoothly. His diagnosis was accurate and he took the time to think out of the box. Some follow up remains, and I am optimistic it will continue to be a good experience.

Utilizing his extensive experience and credentials (certified in 4 areas), Dr. Szema was able to diagnose a condition that had eluded other doctors for a decade. As a result my symptoms are finally understood and under control. The office staff are competent and cordial, and they always greet patients by name and with a smile. Highly recommended.

Dr Szema is one of the most driven and intelligent physician I have ever met. He is truly an expert in his field. He always takes his time to explain any question that you might have regarding your illness. He always uses plain understandable English to answer all your questions. His staff is the friendliest and most professional around. They are all caring and dedicated people. I will recommend them to all my family, friends and colleagues.

I get weekly allergy shots with Dr. Szema and I appreciate the friendly environment. It has also been great to come here because they are flexible with one's schedule which I need as I work far away. I have never had any issues and the nurses are the best! I highly recommend coming here if you have bad allergies like me!

i went for help with eczema on my soles. He thought it was a fungus. Wrong. He would not take skin cells because he ' didn't want to touch" what i had. I had to do it. He offered no help at all. I wasted two visits with him. he did tell me i had wax in one ear. I was in misery with my feet. He knew NOTHING!! i EVENTUALLY WENT TO A DERMATOLOGIST WHO immediately told me what I had and he gave me prednisone which cleared up my soles for the first time in 9 years. I felt like all Dr.. Szema knew about was allergies... I was in the wrong place. but he didnt tell me that. But hey... his office person told me where i could go to get good dumplings in StonyBrook. I am sure Dr. szema knows about asthma but he knew nothing of dyshidrotic ezxema which is what i had. Why ask me to see him a 3rd time? For what. To fill him in on what another doctor told me? So I am not holding back. I got no help at all from this doctor.

Dr. Szema is a kind and caring doctor. He is very knowledgeable and takes time to explain details to the patient. The office staff is genuinely kind and willing to help. This Dr. has my highest rating.!
