Dr. Toney earned his undergraduate degree from Alabama A&M University and his doctorate from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He graduated with several awards, including: Who's Who, Kiwanis Outstanding Service, Outstanding Young Men of America, Black Achievement Award, New Jersey Board of Concern Citizens Award, Commonwealth Dental Society Award, Urial Gunthrope Memorial Award and the James Bell Award. Upon completion of dental school, he was certified by the standards of the North East Regional and the Alabama dental boards. Initially, Dr. Toney practiced in Gadsden, Ala., at the J. W. Steward Clinic for eight months. However, his true desire was to return to the Huntsville area, where he was born and raised, to open his own practice. On Sept. 17, 1985, he realized his dream and opened the doors to his practice.

"One of the most important aspects of dentistry is to have an individual relationship and understanding for each patient. Dental treatment does extend to the emotional and physical needs. I believe in lending an ear because sometimes that makes a world of difference in many of my patients."
"I feel that all patients should have healthy teeth and gums regardless of their financial situation, and because of that belief, I participate in several dental fairs for low-income children in the Huntsville community."
"My staff and I will do everything we can to make coming to the dentist pleasant and easy for you. You will always be called by name and treated with the utmost respect. In short, my staff and I will treat you as we would like to be treated ourselves."

Personal:
Dr. Toney keeps himself very busy in his church, where he serves as an elder. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys working in his yard. He is married to the former Janice Draper and is the proud father of three children, two grandchildren and one son-in-law.
