DR. EMERY MICHAEL COLE, II
     Dr. Cole is a native of Mobile, Alabama and has lived in Birmingham since 1988.  He attended Millsaps College, The University of Alabama and Spring Hill College earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry.  Dr. Cole received his Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry where he was President of Psi Omega Dental Fraternity and Vice President of his graduating class. In 1993, he received a Certificate of Advanced Education in General Dentistry after completing a residency at the University of Alabama School of Dentistry.
     In 2005, Dr. Cole was recognized as a "Fellow" of the Academy of General Dentistry at a convocation in Washington D.C. and in 2010, …recieved his Implant Surgical Placement and Restoration Level II Certification from the Zimmer Institute/UAB in Carlsbad, California. 
     Dr. Cole has a wife, Carla and two children, Carly and Tripp. He enjoys mountian biking, fishing, boating, the occasional round of golf and spending time with his family. They are members of Saint Frances Catholic Church in Birmingham. 
     Dr. Cole has received additional technique training in dental implants, aligner orthodontics, endodontics (root canals), class IV diode laser surgery, cosmetic and restorative dentistry.  He is dedicated to continuing education so that he may bring the latest advancements in dentistry to his patients.  Dr. Cole is Cerified in both Invisalign and the newest tooth aligner system , CLEAR CORRECT.

Using dental implants are like using an "erector set" in which several dental restorative options can be combined to give you the desired results.

Periodontal Disease
Periodontal disease can effect all ages but usually effects adults in varying degrees of severity.  Although there are inheritable factors associated with periodontal disease, successful treatment can be made in most cases.  You do not always have to loose your teeth but prompt, continual treatment and an effective home hygeine regimine is needed.  We are here to help guide you through treatment and education about this condition and may refer you to a specialist if needed. Periodontal disease has been associated with heart disease, low birthweight babies and possibly pancreatic cancer in men so it is important to have scheduled routine dental and periodontal exams.
