Dr. Antone Baptista Cruz III, MD

I've been a patient of Dr Cruz's since he came to Riverbend and that's approximately 18 years ago I've never had any concerns about my care he's always thorough as plenty of questions and his sympathetic and generally passionate about your care I would recommend him if you are looking for conscientious and capable physician for internal medicine I find unfortunately that some people go to any doctor they expect a magic pill that just ain't out there or isn't going to benefit them in any way shape or form and for this they leave negative feedback I've never found this to be the case

I'm thinking many who have commented here with low ratings have done so due to issues with the general staff at Riverbend or Trinity Health that it is now called, In my experiences I have had nothing but great things to say about Dr Cruz himself and the same for his physician assistant. He has always put my concern's and worries as a top priority and always listened to them along with having provided great care over the many years I have been his patient, But that said when it comes to the general "Non Medical" staff that can be a whole other issue as I have had severe problems with receptions numerous times over the years, That said in EVERY instance I brought the issue directly to Dr Cruz himself and he made sure the issue was rectified extremely quick. Dr Cruz is wonderful while some of the non medical staff on the other hand can be difficult to deal with at times for certain types of patients such as those who are pain patients

We have been nothing but disappointed with Dr. Cruz and the whole Riverbend Medical Group. We have found that non of the staff will listen to concerns that we have as patients. They will not believe that a patient has a medical problem if they are also being seen for mental health issues in the practice also. All medical complaints are followed up by well maybe you need to follow this problem up with your medication doctor and he should increase your mental health meds. So sorry we ever started with this practice. Looking for a new doctor in the area!!

This place is absolutely ridiculous. Every time I call, I get an attitude from the receptionists and nurses. On top of that, they book you to see your doctor 3 months out unless you call back AT LEAST 3 times and beg them to see you sooner. If you have pain, forget it. They treat you like a drug addict. Getting prescriptions refilled is like pulling teeth. The doctors do not empathize or even listen to you. Every time I go there I am interrupted the entire time. After waiting an hour to see my doctor, I am shooed away in 15 minutes with no answers or solutions. They would prefer for their patients to search the streets, self medicate, or worse - commit suicide - rather than treat them for pain. (I literally told him that if I have to live this way, I don't want to live....and he recommended that I find a new doctor). One nurse told me I need to "hang in there" until the surgeon calls me. I can't believe I've been going to this place since I was born....before it was ever called… "Riverbend." This place has truly gone down the drain. After battling with them week after week for the last 10 months, I'm throwing in the towel, before I really do throw myself off a cliff. Time for a new doctor's office.
