Dont even try to make an appointment, set up a follow up or try to schedule an mri. This practice is on a callback basis. Good luck. You will likely get a student who is poorly trained and unsupervised. You will receive incorrect information and will find it nearly impossible to schedule things that would take 5 minutes at a well-managed neuro practice. Turnover is super high and even NPs dont seem to last here more than a year. Either DeSalles knows how incompetent his staff is or he is simply in denial. He is very hands off with his people which is why I think they take advantage and are so out of control, irresponsible and unprofessional. The main excuse they use here is that someone is out on leave or someone is a new hire,a temporary or a student that was ill informed. There is no supervision and apparently little training and oversight. A follow up with Desalles consists of him playing dumb. If you want any real clinical info. You need to talk to his NP or other neuro… resident. Typically he/she is overworked as Desalles does not interact with patients but assumes that his nurse does. Try calling the nurse! At last check he is without an NP. No surprise there. You will wait a minimum of an hour and a half in a crowded and very depressing 5th floor waiting area. You will be herded in as an exhibit for residents and students. Patient care to DeSalles is writing a clinical narrative report on patient morbidities after treatment. If youre not some exotic dystonia patient who can get DeSalles on TV or in for some big craniotomy you will likely never even see him.You deserve care. Go to a neurosurgeon who can provide it. This one cannot.

i'm sorry to see someone gave some negative marks to dr. deSalles without taking the time to explain.i first saw a video clip of him working with a patient who had a problem similar to my own. i emailed dr. deSalles and was quite frankly shocked when i received a prompt reply and a request to see me. he was exceedingly kind with none of the usual egotistical attitude neurosurgeons so often have. He agreed to re-do a procedure i had had done elsewhere which had not been successful. we are still awaiting the outcome. i highly recommend him.
