Dr. Antony Chunting Hou, MD

Dr. Hou has been a very attentive, caring Doctor for my Rheumatoid Arthritis, and Fibromyalgia. His staff are very respectful and kind, and very professional. I love his practice

Dr.Hou is the only dr that finally figured out what was going on With me. I have had pain in my body And not other symptoms He knew just the right blood work to run and medication to but me on. Had many suggested. Always talks with me. My daughter goes to him also. likes him very much. He has always been very nice to us. So helpful You can see he’s always thinking..about ways to help you. We drive an hour to see him for our apartments. So worth the trip

He was rude and argumentative. If I wasn't required to go here due to my hmo insurance, I'd chose another rheumatologist.

Dr Hou is one of the WORST "doctors" I've seen and a poor excuse of a human being. Was referred to him after see a previous doctor (Dr. Quismorio in Covina) who was awful. Saw Dr. Hou two times. Once in upland and in his office at City of Industry. Turns out Dr. Hou and Dr. Quismorio are friends and in the first visit I had with him he let me know they were friends. His second question for me was, "Do you not think there's something wrong with you". Side note, if I wasn't in pain why would I be there....Anyways, I didn't get into much detail with him as to why I wasn't with Dr. Quismorio, only told him there's a differences in the level of what I think a professional is. The girl in the front office was very nice. I came out of that 1st visit thinking Dr. Hou was very arrogant but was willing to give it an chance. Boy was I WRONG, (birds of a feather stick together). Second visit with Dr. Hou was the WORST EXPERIENCE I've EVER had with a doctor. He comes in asking me how I felt, I… said fine and that's were it all started. He said my levels say otherwise. He began to check my figures and hands and asked if I was hurting...I said no, everything is fine so he asked me to lift my arms and looked surprise that I could. So I asked him for my test results, and he said "what the front office didn't give them to you" (I've never been to a doctor's visit that give you your results before seeing the doctor). Trying to get my test results from him was like pulling teeth. This is were his bad attitude was in full swing. He didn't seem to have my results in front of him so he said, "I think it's 54/55 somewhere in between. He began to get upset because I asked him to explain what they meant. And when he through medical terminology at me I asked him to explain.He was just starring at me looking all annoyed...I stared back at him and asked him what my next step should be. After getting his response to the new medication he wanted me on and asking for the side affects I was done...I couldn't deal with his RUDE, ARROGANT ATTITUDE...I got up, said thanks and walked away (thanks for NOTHING, I wish I would have told him). He kept calling after me but I was done... I was so upset I called my insurance company and asked if there was a way to not pay this guy (waited longer to see him then the 5 minutes I had to deal with him).And unfortunately you can't file a complaint with the medical board for this type of behavior...actions speak louder than words....Don't forget your Oath....I'm being very polite in my review because it's not about the names I wanted to call him but about the lack of what a good doctor is about...Some doctors think they're better than you...Please don't forget that without us, there's no you....All I hope for Dr. Hou is that, in his time of need he gets treated with the same token he provided me on 4/06/15. I am sure he know who I am unless he gets alot of patients who walk out in the middle of there consultation.

I wouldn't waste my time leaving a review if I didn't feel strongly about this issue. Dr. Hou and his staff seem extremely uncaring and incompetent which are the two biggest crimes if you're a doctor. I went to his office in city of industry, maybe he treats his upland patients better based on these reviews. He comes to the office once every 2 weeks so an appointment was hard to get. I was concerned about my joints/ having arthritis. He said nothing about my symptoms and ordered a blood test. I made a follow up appointment for 2 weeks after (the next time he was in the office). A day before the scheduled time, his staff gives me a call and tries to tell me the results of my blood test. She says my ct levels are high, when I asked what that meant for my health, she had no clue. The staff then tells me that my appointment is cancelled with the doctor tomorrow, that there is no point. They want me to get another blood test before I can see the dr. Hou. I'm flabbergasted that the doctor… didn't explain the results to me, and that he actually cancelled my appointment. I called back and demanded to speak to dr. Hou, I said I wanted him to explain the test to me. Weeks later their staff calls me again and tells me to come in, they say I didn't need a blood test anymore( contradicting their previous call) by this time about 3 weeks passed. I go into my 2nd appointment and the doctor tells me my ct levels are really high and will order 2 more blood tests. When I schedule my follow up appointment, his staff asks him when I should come in. Keep in mind I'm standing about 3 feet directly in front of him and his staff is standing. He looks right through me and tells the staff "he doesn't need to make an appointment. We'll just give him a call about the test. " This was my experience with dr. Hou. Incompetent, wastes a lot of time, and biggest crime is extremely insensitive and quite incompetent. One good point is that the waiting time when you are in the office is comparably reasonable.

Excellent and professional staff! Dr. Hou is a very gentle, caring and compassionate Dr. He takes the time to really listen before prescribing a treatment plan.

always friendly, patient, always answers all question and makes sure you understand what is going on :)I am happy to have him as my doctor :)
