Dr. Anu Reddy Thummala, MD

Dr. Anu Thummala treated my mother for over five years for colon cancer. At first, the treatment appeared successful, but later we discovered it had spread like wildfire to her liver. I don’t blame Dr. Thummala for failing to cure my mother. My mother absolutely loved her and they had a wonderful doctor-patient friendship, sharing updates about their children, telling funny stories, and working though challenges together. Tragically, my mother died suddenly one night in February. It was an emergency situation that was unrelated to her cancer. My complaint about Dr. Thummala is that she never reached out to me, my mother’s only child. I called Dr. Thummala’s office 5 times and talked to her staff, requesting that Dr. Thummala get in touch with me. She didn’t make an effort to talk to me or to find out what happened to her adoring patient of five years. I am very disappointed that a doctor my mother trusted with her life with could be so cold and uncaring in the end.

The worst possible experience of my life. In 5 months, I saw my Dr. (Thummala) twice for a total of about 30 minutes. I was there weekly for labs. SHE NEVER DISCUSSED THEM WITH ME. I only had conversation with her nurse. My doctor put me on shots that had zero effect. These continued for 6 bi-weekly treatments. I have an aggressive form of MDS. Frankly our goal should have been to work towards bone marrow trsnsplant, instead, my life was being sustained through blood transfusions. Then, to add insult to injury, CCCN does not respect a patient's desire to switch to another doctor within their system. Dr. Thumalla's lack of care and concern might have cost me any chance of recovery. I am finally being treated by a doctor who EXPLAINED EVERYTHING in our initial meeting. He went over everything with me. Something Dr. Thumalla did not do. She is arrogant, brash, obtuse, and an elitist. She is more concerned about her credentials on her bathroom size office walls. Trust me, if the final… verdict is that her lack of professional care did complicate my treatment. I will find an attorney willing to sue her for malpractice. Caveot emptor- buyer beware - if you value your life find anyone but her. She will probably neglect you to the point that treatment will become a moot issue.

I was referred to Dr. Thummala to be my Oncologist. During my FIRST and only appointment with this person, she was very judgmental of me. She kept saying, "You have pin-point pupils, you have scratches all over your back and you look tired, are you tired?" I replied, yes I am probably tired, I work full time and I am married with 4 children, and I've just been diagnosed with Breast Cancer! She then asked me, FOUR times, if I was a drug user. My husband and I were very confused. We had just come from the gym, and were prepared to face cancer head on, only to be interrogated by Anu Thummala. She sent me out of the office for blood work, only to find out that it was a full drug panel! She was rude, insensitive and mis-read me 100%. Somebody printed me a copy of my file because they were concerned by the comments she made about me, Like-the patient seems orientedX10, the patient has pin-point pupils, the patient refuses to admit drug use, the patient has scratches all over her back,… and I am sending her for a full drug panel! I fired her and the original breast surgeon I was referred to; They work hand-in-hand. PLEASE believe the reviews you read about ANU THUMMALA. Thank you for reading, I hope it helps you. Thank you so much for taking care of my father who's leaving with cancer. Dr. Thummala gave my dad another chance in life. my Dad sees her on regular bases and the care she give is great and most of all always with her beautiful smile and great patients. thank you for all you did and do. Mrs. Eden

My wife was very nervous about her treatment and Dr. Thummala has turned her nerves into confidence about her future. Dr. Thummala speaks clearly and concisely about the subject at hand in a way that is comforting and empowering. Great work from the doctor and her staff!

Dr. Thummala is one of the most understanding, personable doctors that I have ever had the pleasure to see. My only regret is that I can't find a family doctor like her. She is fantastic!

My sister was a patient of Dr. Thummala she was treated her for stage 4 breast cancer.what is so devastating is how a doctor wouldn’t say how she was covered with cancer and not say a word and had the nerve to say if you don’t get radiation on your spine you would be paralyzed she my sister got 10 rounds never recovered very sick side affects need at hospital Dr. Thummala never came to see my sister at all I had to put her in hospice till she passed within 5 days.Dr Thummala you need to be honest with your patients and there family’s

My mother was terrified that her cancer had returned, but Dr. Thummala insisted it was just scar tissue and ignored her concerns. Then we discovered that her PET Scans from a year back had shown a reoccurrence of the tumor and Thummala said NOTHING! My moms urologist diagnosed her cancer! It wasn’t until the tumor grew so large it caused an intestinal blockage, that Thumalla acknowledged it!! Then she had the nerve to say to me “your Mother and I were the only ones in the room, so really, it’s her word against mine”! Get a second opinion! Trust your feelings!
