Dr. Anupama Ashwin Shah, MD

Dr. A. Shah belittled me , embarressed me, was unprofessional, and showed no empathy to me before my outpatient surgical procedure, in front of my daughter, due to my mental illness. I have severe panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and agoraphobia. In fact, I have them so severely that I am disabled. The way she spoke to me about my panic & anxiety shocked both me & my daughter. It seemed as if she had no training in helping/ dealing with patients with mental illness OR she fits in with a large percentage of the population who believe that we really dont have a problem & can choose to act as if we dont. It wasnt the first time I was mistreated or discriminated against due to my mental health issues but it was the most shocking coming from a medical professional who deals with people being nervous due to going under anestheia.
