Dr. Anupama Velpuri, MD

My visit with Dr. Velpuri felt hurried; she was seeing 3 patients simultaneously. I felt she was not focused on my care as she kept leaving the room, or someone would be at the door with a question about another patient. She neglected to give me two of the tests she said she needed me to take. I waited for 35 minutes in the room thinking she was going to come back, but after waiting, I was told she didn't need to see me. She forgot to order the blood work I needed to have and the nurse said she would call me when they're ready. I called a day later and the receptionist was very rude and told me they would have called if it was ready. That was a year ago! I still have not heard back from this doctor despite all the phone calls I have made!

I like that Dr. Velpuri listens to my concerns and respects my opinion. My whole family is seeing her and all are very fond of her. She always asks about them. She is very patient with my husband who can be a little testy. He is very confident of her diagnosis, as am I. I've seen a change in the friendliness of the staff since they've become affiliated with Standford.

I requested to have medicine sent to my pharmacy. It took the staff almost a whole day just to do that. On top of that, the doctor forgot to give me a prescription of the ointment I requested. I called back to the clinic but no one answered. I left voicemail but no one followed up.
