Dr. Anurag Agarwal, MD

I accompanied my mother to an appointment with Dr. Agarwal shortly after she underwent brain surgery for glioblastoma and had been told she had a limited life expectancy. She was physically and emotionally vulnerable at the time. During the visit, Dr. Agarwal was dismissive and confrontational. Basic questions about treatment timing and next steps were not clearly addressed, and the interaction escalated rather than being guided with reassurance or calm explanation. The tone of the visit caused my mother visible distress and shifted the focus away from patient care. What should have been a conversation about planning treatment left her fearful and emotionally shaken at a critical moment. We ultimately transferred her care to another physician within Lynn Cancer Institute, where communication and professionalism were markedly different. Based on our experience, this visit raised serious concerns about communication, judgment, and bedside manner when caring for medically fragile… patients.
