Dr. Anurag Shukla, MD

I’ve been a veteran of shoulder surgeries (8+ and counting) and have never reviewed my anesthesiologist before, but Dr. Shukla was amazing and wanted to make sure people knew. I always get blocks for my shoulder surgeries, but usually they don’t last past 8-10 hrs. I don’t know what he did different, but my block lasted for 1.5 days! I literally didn’t have to take any narcotics after my total shoulder revision for basically the first 1.5 days. Also, I’m heavier-set and have sleep apnea so I definitely feel short of breath after the blocks (told that it’s the usual side effect) but I didn’t have any of that with his block either. I will make sure to request him for my next shoulder (or actually any other) surgery at Rose Medical Center in the future. Was definitely pleasantly surprised!

I’ve had many surgeries in the past, and the care I received from Dr. Shukla for my last surgery at Rose Medical Center was the best and most comprehensive! I’ve had anesthetic complications in the past, and he took the time to hear my concerns, and tailor a specific anesthetic plan for my concerns. I am happy to say that it was the fastest discharge post-surgery that I’ve ever had. I never do these reviews, but I would like to request him for future procedures and recommend him to all. He’s an excellent physician!
