Dr. Aparna Kulkarni, MD

Never had any problems with Dr. Kulkarni, and she's helped me a great deal with an issue that has been very difficult to diagnose for previous doctors. Treatment through her has been largely successful for me. I've also undergone multiple invasive procedures administered by her, and each time I've remained comfortable throughout the procedure (whereas the same procedure administered by previous physicians have been painful and/or uncomfortable). Her diagnoses of my issues have been accurate, and her communication with me has always been very enjoyable, thoughtful, professional, and prompt. I have never felt rushed out of appointments, and I've never left an appointment without all questions satisfactorily answered.

Did a follow-up colonoscopy procedure based on her recommendation. Received bills but no report of outcome and found her office staff very difficult to deal with. Each time I called I got a different as to why I hadn't received the report despite twice being told it was sent out. More than 2 months later - still waiting for her report.

I would recommend you don't waste your time here. Dr K is friendly, unfortunately also unethical. This is particularly true when she gets caught off gaurd from her over bookings, and the manner at which she handles the circumstance is disgraceful. I know I would be singled out if she were to know of anything I really feel. Forget the other questions, I can only say she is not honest, although a great sell on herself. Shameful on her part.

Terrible follow-up after procedures with test results. Very poor ability to contact her or her staff.

Went to her after taking 2 rounds of augmentin...in HUGE amount of pain. She scheduled me for a colonoscopy to be done 6 or 8 weeks from the time of my appointment. Suffered for another week before being diagnosed w/c. difficiles...if she'd been a TINY bit curious and done a simple stool sample, she could have saved me a lot of pain and suffering....sick of doctors who don't listen and who don't care.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE! My experience with every aspect of Dr Kulkarni's practice was horrific! Her nurse, Silma, is unbelievably, uncaring, and rude. Two weeks ago, a call I made was not returned for four days, all the while being extremely sick, and when I finally spoke with Silma I was told the doctor would not either prescribe for me or see me for another month! Repeated attempts to convey the seriousness of my situation fell on deaf ears, I was told to call my internist -- who had referred me to Dr Kulkarni -- and Silma actually HUNG UP on me! I HAD TO BE ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL A FEW DAYS LATER FOR FIVE DAYS, and tests are pending to see if I need abdominal surgery!! I had a dreadful experience with Dr Kulkarnia's partner, Dr. Lahoti, who kept pushing tubes down my throat during an endoscopy, even though I kept indicating that I was not properly sedated yet! RUN, DON'T WALK TO THE NEAREST EXIT!

I have been going to Dr. K for several years to treat Crohn's Disease. Her breadth of knowledge is impressive, and her technical skill in procedures is very high. Her Remicade nurse, Peggy, is the best!Dr. K doesn't have the best bedside manner (kinda cold), but her proficiency is second to none (and I've seen most of them in Houston)

Excellent doctor. She really takes her time with you and genuinely seems concerned for your health. I highly recommend her.
