Dr. Apolinario C Pastrana, MD

This doctor talks over you, ignores what you say about your symptoms and puts words in your mouth. He also threatened to take away my mental health care if I missed one more appointment. The only reason I missed the appointment is because they don’t send text reminders at the VA anymore. This VA facility is one of the worst in the country he’s one of those doctors that would get fired anywhere else, but is protected at the VA.

I don't doubt the doctor's medical knowledge but his patient interactions are absolute trash. Very dismissive and talks over me when I try to explain what problems I am having. when I recover i fully intend on changing my doctor to someone who actually listens to their patients. He is quick to prescribe the pills but that is about it.

Doctor Pastrana is a very intense dedicated Doctor who communicates extremely well with his patients. For all the flak that the VA health system gets there are many excellent people in the fold. Dr. Pastrana is certainly one of them.

Immediately change Doctors for you Sanity and for family. Negative and condescending. Poor treatment plans. Just talks over you and doesn't make sense. Very rude

Rude and arrogant demeanor, displayed impatience and disbelief for symptoms I displayed. Refused to provide referrals for physical therapy when asked. Refused to consider referrals for MRI when recommended by ER doctor. Directed me to take additional narcotic pills after I told him I didn't remember when I had last taken them, resulting in making me very sick and bedridden. Showed impatience and irritation at my visible physical pain when in his office. Failed to diagnose my gall attacks which later resulted in laproscopic surgery. Failed to diagnose my herniated disc which resulted in a microdiscectomy. An incompetent, callous performance over several months showing nothing but dismissal for my repeated attempts to get help. Avoid him.
