Dr. Arash Poursina, MD

Dr. Poursina was called in as a consult while I was in the hospital. He was called in on a Wednesday. He showed up at 4:30ish on Thursday, spent 10 minutes with me and left. He then took 4 1/2 hours to input his orders for new antibiotics in the chart. My condition improved, so he did the right thing. However, he did not show up to see me at all on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday. The admitting physician said I was ok to go home by over the week end, but he couldn't release me without Dr. Pousina's approval. He had been conrtacted numerous times by both the nurses and the admitting physician, but did not bother to show up. On Tuesday he finally sent his Physicians Assistant, and I was discharged. Something that should have resulted in a 2-3 day hospitalization lasted a week, largely due to Dr. Poursina's failure to respond to repeated requests to see me.

Dr. Poursina is very straight forward with your issues and how to aggressively treat them. I truly believe that he had a huge part in saving my life because he took the time to dig deep and find out exactly what was causing my infections. He has been there through the entire experience talked with me about my options and long term care. I highly recommend him.
