Dr. Archana Goel

I was really looking forward to this appointment as her bio indicated a holistic approach to wellness. I found her to be curt and uninterested. She performed a cursory exam and review of my labs and told me very basic information (eat more fruits and vegetables). I had a list of questions she did not answer (gave vague responses). I was sent a survey by the hospital affiliate after the appointment which I answered honestly and Dr. Goel's staff e-mailed me to tell me I was wrong for the things I left in my review! Will not return and do not recommend.

I saw this doctor a few months ago because of chronic pain and wanted to see what was causing it. Her physical exam was thorough but her treatment plan after the blood results came back left much to be desired. She started me on a muscle relaxer for fibromyalgia which did nothing for my pain and left the osteoarthritis untreated. However, she did diagnose my autoimmune disorder and started me on medication right away. I've seen her a few times and she sounds like a broken record - always wanting to prescribe a different muscle relaxer when research shows they do not work for chronic conditions - only acute injuries and pain. I asked her about a medication that I found that is shown to be helpful for FM and was immediately shut down like I was drug seeking because the medication is considered to be addictive by some. The only alternative she offered was Soma - a highly addictive muscle relaxer. No mention of NSAIDs or other options. Very disappointed. Will be going elsewhere to… seek a second opinion.

I have never met a kinder, sweeter doctor than Dr Goel. Her bedside manner was amazing, she was very concerned with my whole health, not just my on paper diagnosis. Her staff was friendly and kind. I called her on a Monday and got an appointment Tuesday. I'd recommend her to everyone.
